Jermain Cole is a two Grammy Awards, multiple platinum-certified albums, and a Billboard Music Award for Top Rap Album and also one of the greatest rappers of this generation. He was born January 28th in Frankfurt, Germany, but raised in North Carolina with his mother. Jermaine started rapping around the age of 12 when his mother gifted him a music sampler. Cole was defenitley inspired by the rappers of the generation before him rappers like Tupac Biggie, and especially Nas.

January 28th, the song named after the birthday of J.Cole. This track reflects on his early career and his ambitions. He also talks about staying true to himself, and hoping his brothers who came up with him do the same. "I brought you **** 'cause I love you like my brothers and you mothers like my mother, think we need a plan of action. The bigger we get the more likely egos collide, its just physics, and should our worst tendencies turn us into enemies I hope that we remember these nights full Hennessey." This part of the song really reflects how he feels about his friends that he considers family. He says to put their egos aside as they grow together. I think this is a vital and crucial part of the song and goes along with the theme of it very well.

J.Cole grew up in fayetteville North carolina. Often in his music he talks about where he is from. His struggles with racism in his community and overall the unfairness that went on as he grew up. In fayetteville is where he found his love for music. Cole then moved to New York and completed his degree while still doing music. He has a song called 03' Adolecence, this song speaks about one of his stories growing up he really does not shy away from his past and shares his experiences with the world in his music. Later on Cole and his manager would start a record labeled called dreamville named after his city in North Carolina. Cole has a lot of love for his city and it shaped him into the person he is and helped him find his passion.

Jcole has a real relaxed looked. His clothes don't usually scream at you are in your face at all which I think is a great representation of who Cole is. He also plays basketball so he's had collaborations with sneaker brands Puma. He has rocked pumas on stage before as well. he has a minialmist approach to clothing in a way, an dhe really prioritizes comfort in the way he dresses. I think it says a lot about him. He still dresses nice and presentable without trying to be over the top and loud with his clothing.

Coles genre is definitely rap and hip hop. The way he grew up and the people who inspired him who he looked up to were rappers. And as he got older and started his own career he did rap and hip hop I think the two tie into each other though. J.cole defeneitley has adapted with the times while also staying true to hiself and his style.In his older mixtapes his style was like a lot of people very 2000's loud rapping. As his other albums start to come out like land of the snakes or sideline story you see his voice change and take a softer tone in some of his songs while also mixing in some of the same 2000's style like in workout. As we get newer you see it change even more like in 4 your eyes only multiple songs don't follow rap. But I think the beauty of J.cole is no matter what style or genre he plays his music you will still feel the words of what he is saying.

J.cole is on one the best featured artist you can get on your song in the game. He makes every doing better no matter the genre. A couple of his most notable songs came off of features. He's done many features and collabs with 21 savage. The two of them in the studio is absolute magic. 21 savage is regarded around social media as one of the best features that someone can get. They have multiple songs together and a few hits. He has songs with everyone like Miguel Lil Durk Nicki Minaj and Future. Red leather with Cole Future and Metro took the internet by storm and is a really great song. Most notably hes had songs with Drake and an unofficial song with Kendrick where they swapped beats.

Cole is known for having power meaning in his songs. knowing that it is hard to pick one. Despite that there is one that stands out to me "I reminisce back to a time where n***** threw they hands (ooh)
All of a sudden, n***** poppin' trunk and then we scram (mmm)
Finger on trigger make a little n***** understand
What it's like to finally be the motherf****n' man" The song change itself is a powerful and moving song but this lyrics speaks about the harsh realities of growing up in bad neighborhoods. He thinks back to happy memories reminiscing about old times when he snaps back to reality knowing his life could be over in a couple moments.

Below are my favorite J.cole songs I feel each one is similar and totally unique in it's own way. J.cole isn't a copy and paste type of artist he sticks to what he does and true to himself.

January 28th- a song that reflects his childhood, a personal story that he also shares his commitment to staying true to himself despite his fame and wealth.

4 Your Eyez Only- This might be one of the best written songs of all time, it is a story about a friend from his point of view. he speaks about fatherhood. systemic cycles and street life all in one song and each verse and part of the song is as well written as the last.

Change- A song about his late friend that passed at 22. He shares that story and also speaks about faith and growth in a person.
