         <description><![CDATA[<div>Study of 6th grade students who completed word problems with a focus on mental representation skills (visualization) vs. just a focus on reading comprehension skills- the RESULT- even successful word problem solvers had a low performance on semantically complex word problems despite adequate performance on semantically less complex word problems. <br>TAKE AWAY- Reading comprehension skills should be given a (more) prominent role during word problem solving instruction! Just relying on visualizing is <em>not</em> enough when word problems become more semantically complex!</div>]]></description>
