Each country has different values and focuses on specific goalsfor their government and society based on how developed or underdeveloped they are. For less developed countries they will focus on growing their economy and building their government. Developed countries already conquered those specific things which is why they are considered a higher level of development. Therefore, these countries will focus on smaller more specific goals. I decided to focus on Australia and Madagascar.

Australia is a free market democracy, and has grown exceedingly well over the past 25 years. With a population of 23.9 million, Australia holds an extremely low unemployment rate of 6.3%, and the economy is thriving in goods, services, and productivity.

Madagascar has had many issues with economic development. The progress in reducing poverty has been undermined by corrupt policies and the general risk of political instability. Madagascar has a population of 24.2 million, very similar to Australia. Even more surprising is their unemployment rate. A stunning 2.2% does not seem like it should come from an underdeveloped country, but Madagascar solely relies on farming and every family member works on the farm, unlike developed countries that have degrees and business or manufacturing jobs to fill.

Australia has one if the best situations for economic freedom. It is highly effective for entrepreneurship. It takes only three steps to start a business and the labor market is supported by the flexible employment code. Australia has managed to slow down the growth of the country's trading partners, so inflation has stayed under risky levels. According to heritage, its monetary freedom is ranked 86.4%, as well as its labor and business freedom both also ranking in the Hugh 80's.

Madagascar is held back on entrepreneurial activity because of the lack of reform. Procedures have been simplified for starting business, but are very expensive. The labor regulations are restricting growth in the economic freedom of their country. Their business and labor freedom ranks in the low 40%'s, half of Australia and their monetary is in the low 70's, still falling short of competing developing countries.

Australia holds a strong rule of law. This law protects property rights, and therefore minimizes corruption or the government holding too much power from the people. Australia has a very stable political government, a strong legal system, independent bureaucracy and fair justice laws. Heritage.org gives them a strong 92.9 for judicial effectiveness, and government integrity ranks in the high 70's.

Madagascar, how ever, hasent gotten rid of their French colonial ways, and state ownership of all land witch hurts the economic freedom for their country. Levels of corruption are extremely high and their branches of government, especially the police, judiciary, taxation and trade areas. Corrupt laws also turn up in mining, environment, and education or Heath care areas, so corruption is a big problem in Madagascar. Compared to Australia, their property rights, government integrity, and judicial effectiveness all rank in a very low number of 20.

Australia is in 5th place for overall developed and economic freedom in the world. It has extremely competitive technology, a prospering economy, and a stable government with littl corruption. It excels in research for new technology such as electric cars and Al robots. It exceeds in environmental awareness, preserving the wildlife that thy have there where it is mot found in other countries.

Madagascar is lacking in technology and research. They are behind on the consistent day to day use of cell phones, iPads, and computers like the rest of the developed countries have on a seconds notice. It does not lead in research, however they are extremely efficient with their trash, and use it as compost for soil more than any other country.
