World war ll gave the ladys a chance to become mathematicians because the jobs used to previously be filled by men but they were all serving in the military.</p><p>.          <description><![CDATA[<p>-In 1940 only 2 percent of black women got college degrees.</p><p>-When working they weren't as segregated but in the bathrooms and cafeteria their were signs to show where colored people should sit.</p><p>-They had to help out the Tuskegee Airmen with their planes so they could go even faster and be an even better plane.</p><p>-They weren't allowed to talk  about what work they were doing to their family or friends.</p><p>-F and P meant pursuit planes, C was for cargo planes, B was for bombers and X marked the spot of experimental planes.</p>]]></description>

The segregated schools had old and broken down textbooks and one of the school buses crashed so a women named Barbara Johns took action to integrate schools</p><p>. Some students thought they would not be good enough for the white students who had better school conditions</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

Katherine Johnson's calculations and the IBM computer's calculations used to mostly be the same so the IBM computer would mostly be checking Katherine's calculations</p><p>. Katherine was always very confident in her calculations and work.</p><p>. The spacecraft at first had multiple issues including the heat shield being loose and the NASA engineers losing signal of John Glenn but John managed to fix the heat shield</p><p>. The landing only managed to be off by 40 miles and the computers were able to predict that John Glenn would have a safe landing</p>]]></description>
