Logan was an inexperienced person with love. He tried to show it but he never could find the right way to do it. Joe was like a dictatorship. Joe would show that he cared for her but his abuse and ego had defined him. In the end he was overthrown. Tea Cake was the best of them. He had cared for her and provided protection and a good life but he had never controlled her.
