Rachel Green from the show friends had learned the hard way on how to be a grown up from coming from a rich family to moving to the city with little to nothing. She had taught me a lot with her character. Although she didn't ask anything from her parents she still had asked for advise from them for example Rachel becoming a mom and being scared of not knowing what to do or how to take care of a baby but her mom had pulled through with advise and it helped Rachel become a great mother. Another thing that Rachel had taught me was working your way up in life is hard, she had a job at blooming-dales and helped an 80 year old put on a thong and it had lead her to a promotion of becoming an assistant buyer this had taught me that doing somethings is weird but its a kind gesture and it can lead to great things if you choose to do your job and do it right. The last thing that I have learned from Rachel is hair changes can do a lot for you, I have always been picky with my hair and protective with how they style or cut my hair but with Rachel she is always changing her hair throughout the show and she brings the best out of it and it helped me become more open to new hairstyle and hair colors.

A role set is where a single status has to have more than one role. This relates to Rachel Green because she has many roles that she plays as a character. In the first couple of seasons of Friends she was a waitress and a coffee shop that her and all of her friends would go to often she then gets a job that she is passionate about which is fashion and becomes a buyer and a personal shopper at Bloomingdale´s then she gets her dream job as an executive at Ralph Lauren. Not only is Rachel a fashionista she is also a mother, in season eight of Friends she has a daughter named Emma with Ross Geller.

Acts of Deviance

Acts of deviance means actions or behaviors that violate cultural norms or going against society norms. This relates to Rachel Green because she has done bad things in the past for example when she was in high school she was the popular girl that every girl wanted to be but she wasn't the nice ones she would bully kids who wern´t like her and to her level. Another example is Rachel going to London to ruin Ross ´ s wedding to tell him that she still loves him. The last example is hiring Tag as an assistant the only reason why she had hired Tag was because he was cute young and she had caught feeling for him which affected him working and also her working skills. She also was protective over him when a girl would ask ¨Is Tag single?¨ she would always say that he was gay and had a boyfriend.

Biological Growth and Development

Biological growth and development means that the brain has developed as well as controling puberty and maturing. This realtes to Rachel Greens character because she had a huge devlopment from the begging of the show to the end of the show. When she had first appered on the show Friends she was spoild, immature and selfish because she had grown up rich and everything was handed to her from the start. Things changed over the period of time throughout the show she learns how to become a mature responisble adult by getting a job and working her way through with realtiy checks. Another good exapmle is when she learns not to act like a teenager after she had ran out of her wedding day she had relised how she still played the popular girl from high school who is mean and likes to think that she is better then everyone but she soon developed how she should act for her age and began to become resposible and able to take care of herself on her own.

Search for self is like the looking glass theory, you find yourself and how others may view you from their point of view, and with that, you start to question your worth, values, and behavior. This relates to Rachel because in season three when she was still working at the coffee house ¨Central Perk¨ she realized that she doesn't want to pour coffee for people her whole life and still be called a waitress by the time she is thirty. She finally stepped up and quit and realised that she wants to do something that she is passionate about and reached out and got a job that is a step up from the coffee house.

Values mean beliefs accepted by our given society. This relates to Rachel because she values connections with other and mutal support and she has the right people to have that support from with Joey, Ross, Monica, Chandler, and Pheobe. She also values her friends and family, they all play an important role in her life because they all helped her through life and giuded her through adulthood and real life situations. She also values her work because its something that she enjoys and loves to do for a living.

A theory of socialization is about group socialization is the theory about an idividual groups rather then you parents that influence your personality and behavior in you childhood or adulthood. This relates to Rachel because when she is with her friends she is funny and involved with everyone by always knowing how they are doing and how they are feeling shes also very opiononated with her friends she isnt afriaid to speak her mind and always tells the truth to her firends. She just keeps it real with her friends because shes comfortable with them.

Ascribed or Acheieved Status

Ascribed status means that it is assigned to a person without reference to their differences or abilities and achieved status is decided by your performance or effort. This relates to Rachel Green because she is both ascribed and achieved status for example she is a mother to her daughter Emma. A daughter to her parents Leonard and Sandra Green, and a sister to Jill and Amy Green. For achieved status she is a friend to Joey, Monica, Chandler , Ross and Pheobe. An employee to ¨Central Perk¨, ¨Bloomingdales¨ and ¨Ralph Lauren¨. Last but not least she is also a girlfriend to Ross Geller (One year then they get back together in the last episode) , Joey Tribbiani ( One week then decided to just stay friends), Barry Farber ( Was going to get married but Rachel ended up being a runaway bride), Joshua Burgin ( Met him at her work at Bloomingdales only dated for a couple of months then they broke up cause rachel was trying to prove a point to Ross that she is over him.) and last but not least Tag Jones ( Dated for a couple of months met at her work by becoming Rachels assistant but broke up cause he was much younger then she was.)

Primary groups are personal relationships and their immediate that is direct and permanent and this relates to Rachel because she has a close group of friends that are immediate and face to face the group has three boys and three girls whose names are Monica, Pheobe, Joey, Ross, and Chandler. For the period of the show, they all have been friends for eight to ten years everyday they would always go over to Monica and Rachels's apartment to watch shows play board games, or spend the holidays together. They all took vacations together and drank coffee at Central Perk every single day, they acted like one big family because that was all they had was each other in a big city like New York. They all watched each other go from bad times into good times seeing each other at their lowest and their highest they all just kept it real with each other and stuck by each other's side even if they all did something to hurt their feelings cause thats how much they loved each other.

Collective group means that any group behavior that is not mandated or regulated by any institution this relates to Rachel because she has a team and a family...by team I mean her work environment she is in a group of people that are apart of Ralph Lauren and they do the shopping and the pick and choosing for that years line of clothing. She also is still close with her family after becoming independent in the city she still calls them and visits them when she can.
