The iPhone was the first of the iPhone series. Released by Apple in 2007, the iPhone combined the iPod, a messaging system, the internet, a map system and ran on the revloutionary IOS. With this new device brought the intergration of a touchscreen keyboard. This keyboard solved many problems such as the keyboard taking up half the device, so this new technology would save space. The iPhone had 128 MB of eDRAM and a 320x480 pixel screen. There had already been touchscreen phones designed and released, but they were large and blocky whereas the iPhone could fit in the comfort of your pocket. The iPhone combined many pieces of technology and could fit itself into a slick hand-held device.

The iPhone 3G was the second iteration of the iPhone series and was releaseed in 2008. It had the same screen size and prossesor, but the main difference was the ability to download 3rd party apps via the App Store. This allowed for business that created apps had the oppurtunity to put their apps on the App Store for iPhone users to Purchase and Download. This allowed for users to have more apps to help with productivity and the ability to get a variety of games. Another introduction to the iPhone 3 was the GPS navigation as well as a scientific calculator.

The iPhone X was the 11th version of the iPhone and was released in September 2018. This iteration brought many new features, but there was a big one that was introduced in a previous model that I was not able to mention before. This feature was Apple Pay, where users could sinc up their credit or debit card to their iPhone and could pay on paywave devices with their phone. Apple pay allowed more it more easy to pay and you only needed to have your phone instead of carrying a wallet.

The iPhone X brought a 1125x2436 pixel screen and 3GB of RAM. The main introduction from the X was face ID. Face ID allowed users to enter their phones only by using face scanning. It increased security of the phones and allowed face scanning for other apps.

The iPhone 5S was the 7th iteration of the iPhone and was relaesed in September 2013. The 5S brought a 640x1136 pixel screen and 1 GB RAM to give users a bigger screen and more storage for their files. The 5S also introduced the revloutionary Touch ID. Touch ID allowed users to sign into their iPhones by puttinh their thumbs on the home button where their fingerprint would be scanned and then their phone would be unlocked. This increased security of iPhones because only the user could log into the phone with their unique fingerprint.

Another feature introducedd in the 5S was Airdrop. Airdrop allowed Apple device users to transfer photos and files to other people within a close proximity. It allowed easy transfer of digital things between apple users.

The third new feature was the introduction of the control centre. iPhone users could swipe up from the bottom of their screens and bring up the control centre in which they could adjust brightness, volume, turn off and turn on mobile data, wifi and blutooth, and they could record thier screen without third party apps. The control centre introduced more ease of access on toggling settings without going into your settings app.

The iPhone 4S was the 5th version of the iPhone. This iPhone as well as the previous version had a 640x960 pixel screen and 512 MB of RAM. The iPhone 4S brought one of the iPhones most recognisable features, Siri. Siri was an AI built by apple which users could talk to and then it would help you navigate your iPhone. Siri could also start calls and send messages. It could also answer questions by getting answers from the internet. This AI was brilliant for users who wanted to navigate their phones and send messages without having to type them themselves, so Siri brought much more ease of access.

Another introduction to the iPhone series brought by the iPhone 4S was the iCloud. This allowed users to store their files and photos on the cloud where they could access them on different Apple devices. This gave users more security on their files because they could just save them to the iCloud.
