Students new to Chinese should sign up for Chinese 1 and do not need to be tested.
Students with some background in Chinese can create a composition (written or typed) and submit it with the Chinese Placement Survey if planning to take Chinese 2 or above.
All students planning to test should read the SHS Chinese Placement Information and complete the Chinese Placement Survey.
Please see the SHS Chinese Program Material Samples and the Chinese Portfolio for further information.
If the students will take the placement test on 1/31. Please click and print 8 pages of the writing sheet with 6 pages of 200 words per sheet and prepare pens for the writing session of the placement test.
Students can also write on the sheet using Kami if they cannot print out the writing sheet.
