The Truth Untold

Most people only know that teachers should be the one who support thier students' dreams. However, there is one truth that people forget to mention. Though teachers are responsible to support and guide thier students' dreams, it is also important to let the students think about the reality of their lives. For example, if a student wants to become an actor or actress, let tham think carefully that is this going to be a career that will make them happy? Is this dream reliable? Is it really what she want to be in the future? Is the student sure about that he or she will not regret about this one day when they look back? Everyboday has a dream, yet every dream are only good to be dreams. Actually, this idea is not the thing that discourage the students, but it is an idea that let the students think logically and ask themselves a very deep and beneficial question to help them see what is waiting for them beyond their dream. So, understanding children's hopes and dreams is not only about supporting, but guiding them and let them ask questions by themselves about their real dreams and goals, and help them focus on the reality or make their dream comes true, if it is possible. So, letting the students define the meaning of their dreams and goals by themselves can be an effective and impactful way that lead to a real understanding of children's hopes and dreams.

I love the ideas in the video and the lesson plan for getting learners at different ages to start thinking about the future.

It might be effective to invite guest speakers who have achieved what students wish to achieve into the classroom to talk about the process of becoming. Field trips can also be effective because they make dreaming concrete.
