I chose this picture to represent the role of plants in our society and the environment because it seems like a nurturing picture. The people's hands carry the plant and will possibly plant it somewhere it can grow well. They are caring for the plant as we should care for all plants because they are essential to our survival. Many people know this, but may not act on it.

I chose the Amoeba Sisters video because despite the cute packaging, it is an extremely helpful video. I used to watch these videos when I was younger and most of the time the funny pictures that they add helped me to remember the actual information. The video hits every point that was in our notes, and very nicely explains it so that anyone could easily understand photosynthesis.

I, personally, think that the Tropical rainforest is in the most danger of ecological change. Deforestation has been a huge issue for years. I heard about the extreme deforestation when I was young and I haven't heard anything about it stopping. This not only depletes the trees, but the habitat of every other plant in the area, and destroys the homes of animals.

I think this picture represents the impact that plant domestication had on human migration. You can see how they have a more permanent home and even food storage. Farming caused a constant supply of food in one area so people didn't have to follow the migration of animals anymore. Humans began building homes that they could stay at for generations, something they never had before.

This is a steam powered tractor. I chose this invention because it is quite literally the blueprint to the modern tractor, just with more steam. This allowed farmers to pull the other inventions like the combine, when otherwise they'd need 7 or 8 horses. If the tractor hadn't been invented, we wouldn't be able to plant, grow, or harvest the massive amounts of crops we grow today.

Coffee and many other items today have a little thing called caffeine in them. Almost everyone can say they wake up with a nice cup of coffee in the morning. Caffeine comes naturally in many different plants. For example, coffee, cocoa and tea are huge sources of everyone's daily caffeine buzz. If that isn't the most globally influential thing, may I never be effected by CocaCola's caffeine again.

Anything that goes unchecked is bound to spiral out of control. In large impactful things like the environment, politics, and society, if they are allowed to go how they are, even if practices seem good now, they would eventually get out of hand. Even if we continue to keep even one practice out of check we can potentially disrupt the others. For example, if the environment continues to be treated the way it is now, while still keeping up the progress we're making in other areas then we will eventually ruin the environment by exhausting it and then not caring about fixing it. I chose this picture because a decrepit wasteland seems fitting for a world that goes on without checks.
