I think the core message here is that drinking will lead to an unenviable outcome; not only in your friends eyes but also how she knew she had done the wrong thing at the end also. The target audience here is teenage drinking and the after effects, but shows 2 different perspectives which is very clever really. It gives the audience 2 outcomes and allows them to make a more informed choice about social behaviours and what is acceptable and what is not. Not sure it is affective in its aim because it does show that alcohol can lead to sexual gratification, which, depending on the audience, could give a perpetrator ideas. It does show another outcome and the message is clear, but still not sure on this one.

2.I think the core message is that depression isn’t obvious. It demonstrates this point by showing how a person can still function and play a social role ie. go to work as opposed to the cliché cannot leave the house and, instead lays in bed all day.

3. I think the target audience is young professional males that are new to the concept of ‘full-time’ work. I feel like the following health statistic from Youth Beyond Blue best represents this YouTube clip: “In 2015, when asked to rate how happy they were with their lives as a whole, around 1 in 10 young people (8.8%) responded in the range of 0 to 30 with 100 being the happiest.”

4. I don’t feel as if the clip is addressing health risk factors of depression because it just showed a person dazed and confused, yet could still function.

5. Yes, I think it is an effective health promotion because it is subtle yet relatable for instant, getting a full-time job at first is exciting an interesting, but over a period of time routine sets in and everyday feels like groundhog day.

This is a message about being tested for a sexually transmitted infection (STI) aimed at late teenagers who are sexually active with more than one person. The short clip addresses the issue of sleeping with someone without using protection can lead to contracting an STI as you don’t know what that person may have or who they have previously been with and what they may have. It is encouraging people to get checked for an STI. Statistics show that 498 million people aged between the ages of 15-49 have one of the four most commonly contractible STI’s being chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis or trichomaniasis (WHO, 2017). A lot of the signs and symptoms can be unnoticed or have no symptoms at all and these infections can lead to further long-term disability and even death if not treated (WHO, 2017). Taking this into account, you never know what someone may have and it is safer to wear protection and get tested regularly if sexually active. I believe this is an effective television ad as it is enough to scare people into thinking twice about not wearing protection.

References

Cellostring.
JCHISHOLM- s275848 Incentive- Week 6Alcohol- > Drink Wise AustraliaAttitudes to Alcohol: Creating Cultural change in AustraliaThis video interviews varies Australians including athletes as well as a health professional and targets the culture of drinking in Australia and the changes Australia has seen around drinking. There is a culture in Australia where alcohol is a centre point at social events, occasions, parties, on weekends etc. and high consumption is acceptable. The video touches on binge drinking, the issues surrounding drinking in Australia and targets groups which includes primarily young adults. The 2007 National Drug Strategy Household survey (Dep. Of Health) found that over 20% of those aged 14 to 19 years of age ingested alcohol weekly and that 40& of those aged 14 to 19 years of age were consuming alcohol to degrees where there was a risk for short term harm including hazards and trauma. Health risks that were included in this promotion included violence, assault, injury, sexual assault, potential or acute injuries potentially leading to brain damage as well as injuries leading to broken bones. I believe this is an effective promotion along with other health promotion campaigns Drink wise have including the campaign on how to drink properly which is aimed at young adults and promotes drinking responsibly. This promotion encourages adults to drink responsibly and to encourage change in the current culture in Australia around drinking. It promotes educating the population that it is okay not to drink but also to drink responsibly without getting to a point where you can potentially cause harm not only to yourself but others.Attitudes to Alcohol: Creating Cultural Change in Australia. The frightening statistic of 1 in 5 women are affected by domestic violence is mentioned in the video. Domestic violence tends to be more prominent for certain socioeconomic factors such as women with insufficient support to public transport, vehicle use and adequate health care. They are unable to reach help.
The you tube video on domestic violence I believe is effective if it is seen by the target audience. It may lead to services in outer suburbs of Melbourne to be increased and or support workers being made more available to these areas. It is a frightening yet informative video. According to domesticviolence.com.au a minimum of one woman per week is killed by a current or former partner which leads to the assumption that more awareness needs to be made about domestic violence in Australia.

I have recently been asked by our primary school to complete a short course on child abuse and our responsibilities and duty of care as parents and direct contact volunteers with school students surrounding awareness and mandatory reporting in relation to child abuse. The modules are very straight forward but are very informative and highlight just how prevalent child abuse and neglect in various forms is in our community. I was not aware how prevalent it is and it just breaks my heart. It made me look at things and think about how privileged my childhood was and how vulnerable children can be.
G.

This clip is to educate people to be aware what make them become obesity and the risk of being sick due to obesity. The target people are population in UK. But the message is also went out for the parents of the UK. To educate kids about what is the real food and guide them to eat healthy to reduce the chance being obese. This promotion also addressed the fact of the hospital-related cost, which added huge financial burden to the government. In my opinion, this promotion is very clear and effective. It made us think about consequences of becoming obesity and price we have to pay for not eating right. Kids are the future of the country, they rely on our guidance to find a better shape they will be in. Another good point from this clip is the big tax on Junk food. It is a fantastic idea in my opinion to lead people to choose the right food when it comes to shopping. Nowadays, we have to admit that the healthy food like vegetables are far more expensive than french fries. The tax idea may lead people to a better eating habit.

Passive smoking – is a type of smoking that is inhaled by the smoker then exhaled into the environment which contains dangerous toxics gases, chemicals and fine particles. The smoke is then inhaled by non-smokers deeper into their lungs and stays there longer than the smoker. Inhaling second-hand smoking can lead to diseases, disabilities and in some cases, death. Passive smoking and affect on Kids. I think passive smoking promotion is beneficial in our schools and early learning centres as it makes parents, carers and children aware of the harmful affect it has on everyone, especially the kids

https://youtu.be/54sDdNa9vek

The core message of the advertisement is to let everyone know that we should not be ashamed to let anyone know that we are experiencing problems that we can no longer handle. Sometimes letting our emotions and thoughts out to someone can make us feel relieved. Those people can also help us deal with our current situation. We can control our life from being out on its path by learning when to seek help from people around us.

The target audience of this advertisement all Australian people who are experiencing more than one problem that is affecting their emotions already. The 2007 National Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing of adults provides information on the 12-month and lifetime prevalence of mental disorders in the Australian population aged 16–85 years. The survey estimated that almost half (45%) of Australians in this age range will experience a mental disorder at some time in their life (an estimated 9 million people in 2015). It was also estimated that 1 in 5 (20%) of the population had experienced a common mental disorder in the previous 12 months (an estimated 4 million people in 2015). Of these, anxiety disorders (such as social phobia) were the most prevalent, afflicting 1 in 7 (14%) of the population, followed by affective disorders (such as depression) (6%) and substance use disorders (such as alcohol dependence) (5%).

The risk factors could be self-harm due to the ability of the person to seek help from others. The other health determinants that may be addressed are the conditions of everyday life, from beginning before birth and progressing into early childhood, older childhood and adolescence, during family building and working ages, and through to older age. Action throughout these life stages would provide opportunities for both improving population mental health, and for reducing risk of those mental disorders that are associated with social inequalities.

References:

Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
