Gail Halvorsen was a pilot who worked around the clock, he delivered a total of 126 missions from July 1948 to February 1949. This is when Stalin started to take over. In the time that Halvorsen worked, he realized that "service before self" caused the enemy to become your friend. Halvorsen was nicknamed "The Candy Bomber" because he would drop candy bars to children from the skies. The children taught him about freedom. Later on, more men started to take Halvorsen and drop candy to the kids. It was made on May 14, 1955 and created a political and military alliance with the Soviet Union and some Eastern European countries. This alliance was made to counterbalance NATO, which is an alliance between the US, Canada, and Western European nations. The Soviet Union ended up controlling most of the Pact's decisions. The Warsaw Treaty Organization, which is another name for the pact, was effected by economic slowdown, changes in member states, and was withdrawn of all of their military exercises. He led United Nations forces during the Korean War, commanded the Southwest Pacific Theater in WWII, and administered postwar Japan during the Allied occupation. He was born on January 26, 1880 and he died on April 5, 1964. His largest operations occurred during the Luzon campaign. MacArthur was promoted to general of the army 1944 and four months later was appointed commander of all of the US army forces in the pacific. During the Korean War, General MacArthur was in charge of commanding United Nations forces there. MacArthur later received lots of popular support for his work. General MacArthur possessed many great qualities, including intelligence, rare conman ability, and amazing dedication to his honor, duty, and most importantly, his country.

Ruby had to be escorted to and from school by federal marshals to protect them from angry mobs and protesters. By the time Ruby graduated high school, schools had been desegregated. She was an inspiration to other young colored children and more and more colored kids started attending the white school. She was a lifelong activist of racial equality. Also, she established the Ruby Bridges Foundation, this was to promote tolerance and create a change through education. Rock and roll was integrated when American culture was segregated. Blacks and whites played in bands together. Jazz was another music style that started to get big at this time. Jazz music would be played at festivals and parties and nightclubs mostly in black neighborhoods.

I'm wondering what is the meaning behind this song? When this song was written there was a lot of racism and people were trying to solve this problem, that could be what the song is referring to when it says "The times they are a changing". Based on the lyrics of this song and when it was written, I think that the meaning behind this song is everything will pass eventually and things will change. Nothing is permanent and there is almost always a way a situation can improve. Some children decided they wanted to march because they had nothing to lose. Everyone met at the church to start the march for freedom. Police shouted at the colored people to stop and leave. People were jailed and sprayed with dangerous water. The children were crammed into a jail cell, but they didn't give up hope. People continued to march through the difficulty, and they had finally been heard. I don't think this was the end of segregation. There are still many people who want to keep colored people separate. An example of this is the Black Lives Matter movement. This started because colored people were still not being treated the same as white people. Some things that were exaggerated in the movie include the manager beating down the whites only bathroom sign, how long it took the woman to calculate all of the math needed to send a rocket into space, and the woman raising her voice when she was explaining why she is always late. In real life, based on information told by the real life people at the time, it took the woman days to figure out all the calculations needed, not seconds.
