Nivrrithi- Intermountain bunchgrass prairie is one of North America's most endangered ecosystems, now covering less than 1 percent of the area it once did. This is because we humans have exploited nature's services and taken it for granted. A once flourishing prairie now reduced to a barren land is all because of us. Drought or scarcity of water may also have led to this drastic change, and even large migration periods would've played a role in the present state of the Montana Prairies.

Veena- It was eye catching with green plants back then in 1902. But wow it is like a dessert with no plants. It is barren now. What happened and why? It is all because of climate change increased wildfires and loss of wetland habitats. Annual temperatures rose and precipitation declined in the prairie, making it more susceptible to fire. grass prairie became hotter, drier and more susceptible to fire annually -- but dramatic seasonal changes (not annual climate trends) seem to be driving the biggest changes in plant production,

Haasya- A green and flourishing grassland. With lovely plants. Filled with grass and plants this prarie is an amazing sight to our eyes. Found in the Appalachian and rocky mountains. With lots of rain for a lot of plants to grow.

Harshini- the past was full of grasslands ,a beautiful background ,a lot of greenery ,lot of oxygen and a lot of rocks. These glaciated plains, blanketed in native mixed grass, support what may be the largest assemblage of grassland species left on the Northern Great Plains. These include disappearing birds, such as mountain plover, burrowing owls, chestnut-collared longspurs and Sprague’s pipits. Interspersed sagebrush steppe also provides habitat for one of the healthiest greater-sage grouse populations in the world.

Jyotsna- The past was beautiful filled with greenery, peace & cheerfulness. The weather was spectacular!! Biologists Capture 40 Years of Climate Change on Endangered Montana Prairie. ... Widely regarded as one of the most threatened ecosystems, bunchgrass prairies cover less than 1% of the land they once did and have gradually become drier, hotter areas in recent years.
