         <description><![CDATA[<div>Vismaya, Jamanaa, Latifa, Jeethu<br>-The light travels faster in air than in water.<br>-When observed from a particular angle the pencil is enlarged, while in other angle it is bend while viewing from above it remains normal.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The amount of bending depends on two things:<br><br></div><ul><li>Change in speed – if a substance causes the light to speed up or slow down more, it will refract (bend) more.</li><li>Angle of the incident ray – if the light is entering the substance at a greater angle, the amount of refraction will also be more noticeable. On the other hand, if the light is entering the new substance from straight on (at 90° to the surface), the light will still slow down, but it won’t change direction at all.</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>Observation:<br>.When we place the mirror on a text , the letters are raised (seemed to be displaced from it's original position.)<br>.When we direct a ray of light (torch) towards the mirror the light seems to bend at the corners<br>But when we direct the light towards the surface regions of the mirror,light does not bend<br>Conclusion: For light to bend there should be an angle formed (at the corners of the mirror)<br>.OpticalDensity is also an important factor<br>This is called refraction of light.</em></strong></div>]]></description>
