I chose David Attenborough because he is in his 90s and is still constantly trying to change the way we treat the environment. 

Kondratiev Wave Theory refers to change. First theorised by Russian Economist Nikolai Kondratieff in his book “Major Economic Cycle” – 1925 

The theory refers to the alternation between high and low growth rates in our economy. These high and low points are referred to as “cycles”. Each cycle lasts approximately 50 years. 

Five Kondratiev Waves have been identified: 

1-     1780 – 1830 Steam engines

2-     1830 – 1900 railways 

3-     1900 – 1950 electrical and chemical advancements 

4-     1950- 1990 petrochemicals and automobiles 

5-     1990-present infomation technology

Shenzhen has been named the technology capital of the world. It is a city in china that is filled with innovation and ambition. Since the launch of their “maker scheme” there has been a sharp increase in the evolution of technology. Japan is probably about three months ahead of the rest of the world when it comes to technology and innovations. Shenzhen in the majority of cases is one year ahead. This is because of the ready access to parts and components needed to make these innovations from places such as Huaqiangbei which is often referred to as the silicon valley of the world!

Be supportive and nurturing to your pupils. The best teachers are passionate, supportive, critical friends, who respect the creative process.

 

Keep making whatever it is you make. Over and over again.

 

Collaborate and create for fun. If you don’t enjoy it then don’t do it.
