Having a relationship with someone is never an invitation to do an abusive action towards them because we don’t own them.

Why should violence be stopped? Violence must be avoided because it only adds to the chaos and puts everyone in danger. Violence has long-term effects. Toxic stress caused by repeated exposure to violence as a child can disrupt brain development and lead to aggressive and anti-social behavior, substance abuse, risky sexual behavior, and criminal activity. What can be done to prevent youth violence? We can safeguard children and help them develop into healthy adults. Certain factors can increase or decrease the likelihood of young people being exposed to or perpetrating violence. To prevent youth violence, we must first understand and address the factors that put people at risk of violence, as well as those that protect them from it.

by: Gracelyn B Pao

Cases of Violence are continuously increasing day by day, and who knows who's hiding in the dark being a slave of it. Violence has different types but all of them have the same consequences, anyone can be a victim of it. Some victims were blinded by "Love" but remember Love was never proven that way. Physical Injuries were nothing compared to the mental and emotional damage it gives to the point where the only way they think was taking their lives, it's not a joke, and it will never be, many victims don't always get the chance to seek help and No one deserves to suffer in hell of the hands of the people who doesn't get any logic from it. You were born together with your rights! don't let anyone get it from you, not even your relatives, friends, lover, or strangers. Get the Mic and pass it! don't sing for the people who make you slave for your own rights, sing for your rights! When in Doubt, Talk it Out! take a moment to imagine the peace you deserve.... it's time to fight for your own tomorrow.

-Princess Irish Cacayan

T-shirts, jackets, skirts, jeans, pajamas, and crop tops; whatever someone wore was never the source of sexual harassment.

In today's society, we are constantly bombarded with news, stories, and social media posts about people who claim to be victims of sexual harassment. These occurrences can happen at work, school, the military, or even church..

This violence has enormous costs for communities, nations, and societies in terms of public well-being, health, and safety, as well as school achievement, productivity, law enforcement, and public programs and budgets.

Unfortunately, because of people's twisted mindsets, some survivors are unable to obtain justice they deserve; people will always ask, "What were you wearing?" Does clothing have anything to do with a tormentor's mind and toxic behavior? People blame sexual harassment and assault on victims' appearance, clothing, location, and other factors, which is never the case. There is no dress code for sexual harassment or rape. Rather than teaching people how to dress, we should teach others not to sexually harass others.

It was never your fault. You didn't do anything wrong. It was never your choice of clothing. It was their thoughts, their mind, and their behavior.

It may be difficult for you to come forward and share your story. You may feel ashamed, fearful of being blamed, or concerned that you will not be believed, but I'm here, and we're here to believe in you and stand with you. There are numerous people who are willing to hear your voice, to stand up for your rights, and to help prevent these unfortunate events from happening again. You are not a victim because you have shared your story; you are a survivor; strong, brave, and courageous, setting the world on fire with your truth and condemning aggressors to the dark pit of shame they deserve. And you never know who needs your lion-like courage, light as bright as the sun, and hope that was once thought to be impossible to have.

However, if you still feel you aren't ready, that's perfectly fine. Trauma does not have a time stamp. There is no formula that you can follow to go from horror to healing. Be patient. Take your time. Allow your journey to be the balm. Remember that our lives are like tunnels; you can be surrounded by eternal darkness, but there is always a gleaming light of hope waiting for you and everyone.

Speak out against, never condone, and never commit it.

- Lizzette San Diego

When someone told you that they are being bullied, have you ever given this “advice”? Well let me tell you something, it never works. Ignoring it makes the bully think that you are weak and that they are capable of you. That they can do anything towards you because you will never fight back. Please, when someone says they are bullied, act immediately. It’s like being shot by a gun or sliced by a sword and you are bleeding but you just have to ignore it? The only solution is to respond not neglect. I understand that what you meant by the sentence is for them to not make the trouble big but the construction of the sentence is just poorly written. Instead stand beside them and say words that will encourage them and boost their self esteem. Teach them not to fight back but to fight back. Will you wait for the victims to bleed out of death? Or help them heal their wounds with your support and care to be able to stand up again?

- Dannah G.

After a traumatic experience, it’s normal to feel frightened, sad, anxious, and disconnected. But if the upset doesn’t fade, you may be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). PTSD can develop following any event that makes you fear for your safety. Most people associate PTSD with rape or battle-scarred soldiers—and military combat is the most common cause in men. But any event, or series of events, that overwhelms you with feelings of hopelessness and helplessness and leaves you emotionally shattered, can trigger PTSD—especially if the event feels unpredictable and uncontrollable.

PTSD can affect people who personally experience the traumatic event, those who witness the event, or those who pick up the pieces afterwards, such as emergency workers and law enforcement officers. It can even occur in the friends or family members of those who went through the actual trauma. Whatever the cause for your PTSD, by seeking treatment, reaching out for support, and developing new coping skills, you can learn to manage your symptoms, reduce painful memories, and move on with your life.

-Chiong igop

Such horrendous acts can be compared to contagious viruses because both violence and viruses can contaminate, causing harm to others. Violence, as an aggressive behavior that can lead to extreme measures, confirms my opposition as to why I object to such intensity of being able to be cruel; therefore, something must be done and taken to action to at least lessen these brutalities. Nowadays, I believe that our society has been instilled with brutality through video games, music videos, news, and television.

This same act of cruelty is a pressure that manifests itself within a human being, capable of causing harm to individuals through aggression, which can take the form of verbal, physical, psychological, or emotional aggression. Violence in general is a serious problem that is constantly being nurtured and encouraged in our society through various methods that are difficult to recognize because it is well structured to deliver violence in a way that appears fun, innocent, and creative.

This is why we need to spread awareness with this topic.

There are times when you don't feel that you are being abused by someone, you just have to realize it when you feel the pain in your heart. There is violence that is not only physically visible, it is also visible in a person’s mentality. Look at someone, try to tease and say bad words, it has a big impact on them even if you just say it, it's not a big deal to you because you did it but won't you ask him if he's okay? He was hurt and it could change his life. They say that it is harder to be hurt by the word hurt than to be hurt by how you feel. Because physically in pain, the wound will disappear, it will heal, the wounded heart, the words that were left out, are still imprinted on the brain and cannot be forgotten. It's really hard to say a word to someone "think before you say" because once you've told him and hurt him, it's like you've been involved in the offender or verbal bullying.

-Brit

Some of them prefer to keep their suffering to themselves, we have no idea what they are going through because they haven't said anything about the problems and distress they are experiencing in life. The bruises will heal, but the traumatic event left a wound that will undoubtedly cause them pain for a long time.

-----
Something or someone might be holding you back, but don't be afraid anymore. Your freedom has been taken away from you, so it's time for you to fight back. Break the silence and take action with your rights rather than using violence to fight back.
