Student Meeting Held with Partners in NextGen eTwinning Project

Screens Meet, Ideas Compete in NextGen!

The online student meeting of the eTwinning NextGen project, led by Geography Teacher Meryem ÖRÜK and Turkish Language and Literature Teacher Leyla Çinici, was held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 19:00 with the active participation of project partners and students from Georgia (12), Turkey (10), Croatia (1), and Romania (1). The meeting began with an icebreaking and bonding activity aimed at getting to know each other better. This friendly and interactive part created a strong communication environment among the students. The activities carried out within the scope of Safer Internet Day were discussed, and Kahoit was played, thus emphasizing once again the importance of being a conscious and safe individual in the digital world. In the final part of the meeting, information about upcoming activities was given, task assignments were made, and students' suggestions were listened to. The meeting, enriched by the exchange of ideas, increased the students' motivation for the project and contributed to strengthening international cooperation and team spirit. Elif and Ceren from class 10-D, Ece, Ilgın, and Uras from class 9-C, and Ahmet from class 9-E, who actively participated in the project, stood out with their shared opinions and responsible actions in the activities. These students, who excelled in communication skills during the icebreaker activity, made valuable contributions to the meeting by expressing their thoughts on digital studies and activities carried out within the scope of Safer Internet Day. The students' enthusiastic and conscious approach once again demonstrated the student-centered nature of the NextGen project and the active role of young people in international cooperation processes. We thank them and their parents. The NextGen project continues its efforts with determination to raise students as conscious and responsible individuals equipped to meet the requirements of the digital age.

On February 13, a meeting dedicated to Safer Internet Day was held within the framework of the eTwinning project. Students presented interesting presentations about safe navigation on the Internet, talked about possible dangers and how to avoid them. At the end, a game was held, where students happily answered questions. Nino Sakhvadze, a student from our school, participated in the event, and her presentation was highly appreciated by the project leaders and the audience. The students were awarded certificates.

On February 13, our student team proudly participated in an Internet Safety Conference held on the Zoom platform as part of our eTwinning project activities.

Safer Internet Day is a global awareness campaign held every February to promote the safe, responsible, and positive use of digital technology, especially for children and young people. Millions of people across roughly 130 countries participate annually to foster a better online environment.

By supporting Safer Internet Day initiative, ISOC — Georgia tries to coordinate state, private and civil society initiatives aimed at safer use of the Internet by kids and youth. This coordination should support a common goal — making the Internet for secure for kids in Georgia.
