Individuals continue more than ever before to look into the very roots of their existence which is a good thing to do.
Reason for national heritage is being forgotten by the new generation because they do not want to involve and they think it is not interesting to be their hobby. For example, there are still many Malaysians who never watched the performance of Mak Yong, also do not know what it is. 
This happens because they especially the young generation are not exposed to the uniqueness of the Mak Yong performance which combines acting and dancing, as well as vocal and instrumental music. Furthermore, it did not receive the desired response because no popular celebrities were involved. But , the reason national heritage is being forgotten by the new generation can be related to tradition matter. This is because new generation just only think in their mind that tradition did not represent any critical piece of their culture and at the same time, they think that the tradition did not help in forming the structure and foundation of their families and society in nowadays. 
They forgot and do not take note or to know that tradition matter is part of a history that define their past , shape who they are today and who are they likely to become today. Moreover, once they ignore the meaning of their tradition, they are in danger of damaging the underpinning of their identity

The older generation has been taughted them to learn the dance but they doesn't have on that particular dance. It is because they exposed to the new things or something trending in the new world. 

Scientists fear this "generational amnesia" could affect the country's ability to protect the heritage because younger people do not realize what has been lost. Thus, older generation must play the important part in teaching about the cultural and heritage of our country to their kids so that they will undertake as greatest legacy that will understand about our heritage and cultural very well.

The main factor, which I personally think, is responsible for culture deterioration is social Media. It includes both electronic and print media. Nowadays all the TV channels are promoting new trends instead of our culture of nations . People are so much habitual of it that they are day by day forgetting their own golden culture and cultural values. People also following the dress patterns of the west, food habits are being adopted, lack of respect among the youth for elders, modernism and other.People also think that they need to follow current trend because they think that old culture is outdated or old fashioned. Slowly, this will lead to the deterioration of our heritage culture.

In addition, parents play a role in exposing their children to heritage and culture. parents today are too busy with their work and give teachers the task of teaching fully. So things like educating children are getting a bit slow and ineffective.

In my opinion, while the older generation are able to name common natural sights of the past that have now become a rarity, such as flocks of starlings, they have not passed on their knowledge to their children, children do not have known about the heritage and think heritage is unimportant for them.
