È meglio conosciuto per il suo trattato politico Il principe, scritto intorno al 1513 ma pubblicato solo nel 1532. Breve trattato su come acquisire il potere, creare uno stato e mantenerlo, Il Principe rappresenta lo sforzo di Machiavelli di fornire una guida per l'azione politica basata sulle lezioni della storia e sulla propria esperienza di ministro degli Esteri a Firenze.

Which translates to “tell me who you hang out with and i’ll tell you who you are”. Basically the people that hang around you can say much of who you are.
