Many southern schools in places like Missouri are in strong support of this plan of action. If we do not allow people to carry out their constitutional rights then America will just be more susceptible to more public shootings and terrorist attacks.

The no side to this article is the question, how can you define what junk food is? These teachers want to protect their students because they live in a rural area where response times from the police are pretty slow. In this article there is a opinion about not letting teachers have guns on schooo grounds, and just letting the police take care of it. This connects with sociology because it shows that crime is taking place everywhere and we need someone to be there to stop it. My takeaway on this is that having teachers carry a gun may make them feel more safe I do not think it is smart to have a gun around students. You never know what could happen. They could maybe find it or somehow get it from you and that would be even more dangerous.

Some people think it is a bad idea because kids can't make their own decisions if the government makes it for them. This is connected to sociology because their is an issue with obesity, and their are different methods to solving it. Personally, I think that people need to learn how to decide for themselves and taking away that option is only going to slow down the maturation process in regards to thinking for yourself and making healthy decisions.

This article explains why teachers are having the need to arm themselves (the threat of school shootings and slow response times), and gives a glance at the training that they are required to undergo. They must train for 40 hours, 5 in the classroom and 35 on the range, and can expect to see scoring results jump to 90 percent. Some teachers disagree with arming teachers, as Kathy Steinhoff says, "If it does take a good guy [to stop a bad guy], then I want that good guy to be a police officer.

Schools throughout the United States have eliminated foods that are high in sugars including candy, soda, chips, and other junk food. Some believe that students should have the judgement to choose what goes into their bodies while others say students are too immature to decide what is best for their well being. This ties into sociology as a connection to decision making and obesity and the variation among age groups. I personally think it is absolutely ridiculous for school districts to try to dictate what goes into student's bodies. They neglect to see how such "healthy eating" standards negatively impact mental health.

The majority of support for this type of action is in the southern states. Teachers feel a responsibility to protect their students from violent crime. This relates to deviance, self-control, and gun-control in relation to sociology. In this instance there was a discrepancy between what one person believed was acceptable and what another group of people believed was acceptable.
5.

2. New 'gray death' drug can kill with a single dose, authorities warn
3. There is a new drug called "gray death" that is a lethal combination of heroin, fentanyl, carfentanil (an elephant tranquilizer), and U-4770 (a synthetic opioid). This mixture has a gray concrete-like appearance and it can be consumed in a number of ways. Another fentanyl-containing mixture similar to this drug has become more popular because of a drop in price.
4. This connects to sociology because drug use is an issue faced by teens, so it fits into the teen issues category. It is also an example of a crime, which fits into the deviance category.
5. My takeaway is that it is shocking and sad that so many people are dying from this drug, especially if they are unaware of the dangers of it.

This new drug is comprised of heroin, fentanyl, the elephant tranquilizer carfentanil, and a synthetic opioid called U-47700. It can be bought for about $10 on the street and can kill users in one dose. The drug is so dangerous that it is risky to handle it with gloves. This is only further fueling the opioid epidemic. States such as Alabama are seeing huge increases in drug abuse and addiction. People need to start hearing the message that this drug is deadly and users will not know until it's too late. Preventative measures are necessary.

At an unauthorized party, an unnamed teenager threw an elderly woman into a pool. His reason? Because she was asking the party-goers to lower the volume of their music. The teenager later turned himself in and has been charged with battery of a person 65 years of age or older. Actions such as these are inexcusable. The teenager should have been able to and willing to have a civil conversation about the volume of the music rather than respond with violence.

This FBI story covers the arrest of a man who had been selling forged artwork by creating fake papers - bills of sale, letters, and other documents suggesting that the artworks were lesser-known pieces by several famous artists. Spoutz - the forger - had owned an art gallery and was able to make and tailor authentic -looking documents in order to sell the forged works to other art galleries. The FBI became aware of his scheme after several mistakes in the paperwork revealed details that did not match up. Spoutz and his partner, who manufactured the fake art, are estimated to have made and sold dozens of fake pieces. The FBI has found 40 so far and provides resources for suspicious owners.

This issue involves crime and deviant behavior.

The FBI deals with all kinds of crime, solving fraud cases as well as cases like violence or organized crime.

3. The article is informing information about people from different places in the world pretending to be someone there not to eventually have a relationship with another individual. In this relationship they will eventually fall in love, but the person who is lying about their identity most often steals money from them and then dumps them.
This relates to sociology because in class we learned about how big online dating has been the past years, and what age group are the ones to use it the most.
My take on this is that, I was a little surprised about how often this happens to people, also how relevant it really. I knew that it was happening to people because there's a show about it called Catfish, but knowing that it happens around the world surprised me the most.

They have to go through 5 hours of training in the classroom and 35 hours at the gun range.
This involves the lives of teachers and students and how school shootings can be stopped before anything can happen. I believe it is a good idea as long as they dont know who the teachers are, altho im not sure if having guns in the classroom is the best idea.

Law enforcement and health departments have been on high alert for this new drug, which is a cocktail of heroin, fentanyl, elephant tranquilizer and a synthetic opioid: this drug doesn't get you high, it kills you. Its spreading could be fast due to its low cost in the streets ($10) and since it's a compound of many drugs, not even scientists can define if a pill of heroin doesn't contain traces of other drugs that characterize the Gray Death. Authorities are going to send a clear message about the dangerousness of this drug.
