The simlab is a very good way to help us practice with the scenario and be prepared to be a real teacher in role, but with less stress. We can reflect on the records after the simlab.

Having a practice SimLab version at home, where you can play with the SimLab and have a stop/start option, play around and work with different situations in an environment where you are not being assessed. This would be a safe place to experiment, get things wrong, and create solutions.

Would be interesting to be able to have a distraction as ‘aggressive’ whilst talking to another student (in a way of asking them to take some time in a calm corner)

The SimLab experience was a great way to engage with the student and understanding their emotions both inside and outside of school. Trying to find the underlying problem and address the issues in a collaborative way was effective and eye-opening as a teacher.

Doesn't feel like a classroom setting since it is a simulation. And it’s hard to advocate for the children as much as you would need to in a classroom setting

This Simlab session was more effective than previous experiences.

However, based on last experiences, I have found that the sessions seem pointless in the way that they are unrealistic and don't necessarily relate to what we are going to experience in the classroom.

If the Simlabs were more collaborative and focused more on the emotional side of student's responses, then it would be more effective.

having time to play with it in a less formal scenario is also better.

SimLab can sometimes feel like a box ticking assessment process that feels nothing like a real classroom. You have limited information with the avatars and it is a struggle to have a real emotional connection with the "student".

Limited interactions. There are parts where the roleplay requires further than communication. Body posture, facial expressions, etcetera should be accounted as those are indicators for when the student are about to emotionally dysregulate.
