David Hockney was openly gay he expressed his same sex attraction in his work as shown in his painting We Two Boys Together Clinging named after the poem by wall Whitman

I like the intent of the painting that back in the 1960s having same sex attraction was looked upon as being bad and promiscuous so as shown as by a man who was gay himself so it gave some sort of insight of his personal view and life

I am not keen on on this piece of art I don't like the art style of this piece of work its to simple that not to say its bad its good but not my kind art taste.

Material - the material he used was mostly drawing material like oil, acrylic, pencil, charcoal, crayon, pen and ink.

Art movement - the art movement he belongs to is pop art. He was a great contributor to this art movement.

Influenced by Picasso, Francis Bacon, Tom of Finland and Herni Matisse.

I like David Hockney because his pieces of work and art style can differ. for example The road to York through Stedmere and We two boys together clinging.

We two boys together clinging is a very interesting piece of work. The art style is very interesting. It's simple yet clever because if you look in between the two figures you see lines connect them. It looks like strings are clinging them together but I'm not a great lover of the art style. I love the intent of it. it's a representation of his political view and his personal life as a man who is attracted to the same sex. It's brilliant.

I believe that art isn't about drawing and painting. It's about intent and the meaning of the piece of work
