Nate:  Today, we thought about relationships and positive and negative aspects of relationships.  Leo and Kevin's relationship is mostly positive.

Leo was having trouble accepting Stargirl for who she was and wanted her to act more like "them", so she did. Stargirl turns into Susan Caraway, dressing casually acting more like "them".


Aryana:  Relationships
  Leo and Kevin's relationships seem mostly positive. They have been best friends since Leo moved to Arizona. Even though Leo and Kevin have had disagreements over whether or not to put Stargirl on the HotSeat, they still remain friends throughout the story.
Leo and Stargirl gets more positive towards the middle and end of the story. In the beginning, Leo thought that Stargirl was weird and didn't act normally. Then he starts to accept Stargirl more, and so they started dating. Leo expected Stargirl to be more like "Them" instead of "Her", so Stargirl changes into Susan. She tried to be popular like Leo had said, but the kids at their high school hated her even more, especially after she cheered for the other basketball team, which was believed to be the reason Mica High's basketball team lost. But also, Leo seems to be nice to Stargirl more and more, he lets her teach him how to meditate, followed Stargirl to her enchanted places, and had fun with Cinnamon. Leo and Stargirl's relationship was negative in the beginning, positive in the middle, and negative again in the end when they broke up.

Nate: Power Big Idea: Stargirl has more power than Dootsie, but Dootsie doesn't mind being told what to do.




Aryana:   Power
The main character Stargirl has a lot of power over Dootsie because she is older than Dootsie and is considered a good role model. Although the character Leo from "Stargil" isn't in this story as much, in some ways, he has some power over Stargirl. Stargirl's emotions change whenever she thinks about Leo. For instance, in one scene in the story, Stargirl tells us that her Happy Wagon was down to only 2 marbles because she misses Leo too much. Stargirl thinks about all the fun times she and Leo had together and that would make her smile.
