         <title>Line of Symmetry &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;The genre was non fiction- informational. The sentence structure is basic and not extremely complex. &amp;nbsp;The use of the text features such as graphics and charts made it more accessible for ELL&#39;s. &amp;nbsp;We found it did contain content vocabulary such as diagonal, vertical and horizontal that might hinder understanding if a child does not have experience with those words. &amp;nbsp;However, the story does contain many cognates and not as complicated for Spanish ELL&#39;s to understand. &amp;nbsp;For example, &quot;horizontal&quot; vs. &quot;horizontal&quot;.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-Vocabulary in context.  Example: Valley fold and mountain fold.  If you don't know these words, in an artistic context then you don't know how to apply it to directions. <br>-Sequential steps, what is first, second, next. -MATHEMATICAL (1 1/2 inches, vertical, diagonally)<br>-Sentence structure was simple<br>- Sociocultural - most students coming over are used to the metric system not metric that is used here.<br>-Add visuals and models, watch video on creating one.  Provide more scaffolding.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This reference article was a timeline of scientific events (chronological).&nbsp; It utilized hyperlinks (highlighting) for key people and terms.  Because it was a timeline, there was&nbsp; cohesion within the entries (related ideas).&nbsp; The sentence structure ranged from simple phrases to complex sentences.&nbsp; The vocabulary/word choices were very heavy with technical and content specific terms.</div>]]></description>
