Fundamental to this, aligned to our charity values, is a belief in the unique value and unique worth of all people, and that all people shall be treated fairly and have equal access to opportunities.

We recognise that in the spaces and communities we work with power is not held equally, and that individuals and groups have been and continue to be discriminated against, and oppressed.

We therefore affirm our determination to work in an anti-oppressive and anti-racist way, challenging and redressing the imbalance of power in all areas of our work.

We also recognise that this is a learning journey, and welcome challenge and support from colleagues across the charity to help us understand and continually do better.

We will be creating a safe space agreement together which are a set of agreed upon rules and guidelines within the Forum.

We want to make sure we acknowledge your contributions in a clear and meaningful way.

From now on, whenever we share opportunities to get involved in, we will always include details on any recognition or reward attached to the opportunity. Our usual NHS Youth Forum sessions and Young Researcher sessions wont be attached to a reward, but we want to recognise when you have put in extra time or effort for opportunities that sit outside these regular sessions. The recognition will usually be in the form of an e-voucher and we will always be upfront with the amount, this will be based on the type of activity and the amount of time required.
