I think the most influential person in Celie's life is Nettie. I chose Nettie because she is one of the few people Celie actually loves. Celie says a lot of good meaningful things about Nettie everytime she talks about her. Nettie encourages Celie to fight. (Well to want to fight)

In the novel the color purple I think that the most influential person in Celie's life is Shug avery (Mr alberts love affair). When Shug becomes ill she moves into Mr and Celie's house and Celie ends up taking care of her . As the book goes on Celie and Shug become friends. shug starts to have strong influence on Celie's life, because Shug taught Celie  to stand up for herself.
