This article produced by headspace in 2016 reviews the 2016 Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) death statistics, with specific focus on the youth findings. The data is narrowly focused on only youth findings, making it out of perspective, and uses powerful statements that infer it as a critical issue.

Unlike other soucres, which ensure their use of an acadmeic tone to portray the topic, this book simlifies the meaning. Thus, allowing you to understand moral panic before you dive into the academic literature and journal articles. Additionally, for anyone having trouble understanding the term, have a look at TABLE 15.1 "Perceptions and interpretations of issues" I found this informing. Instead of thinking about the event driven examples they have used, I though of some relating to youth suicide.

Hey everyone, sorry these two media articles I'm posting now are on the reference list; however, I posted them on the padlet yesterday but for some reason they didn't get uploaded. Basically, they talk about how youth suicide is at a ten year high and paint a theoretical picture with images on here which I believe is a fundamental aspect of what is associated with moral panic. I feel these articles also demonstrate quite well how the moral panic is from the grassroot strain. My interpretation is the panic is created by the public and the media jump on board and you can see this when parents panic of cyberbullying. therefore, media jump on board and correlate it with the suicide that's currently at an all time high. However, yes, this is not actually a credible source.

Newspaper article and credible source don't usually go hand-in-hand. Despite this, I would consider this to be credible as it is wrote by a Professor of Sociology, therefore the facts are relevant. However, I would also state be careful of sensationalised terminology and images from the media's input. When I used this in my essay I didn't use it for the information, I used it for the media's association. Very evident in the section on suicide and depression, using an image of a little boy head down and needs to chest.
