Every Leaf a Color, Every Stone a Pattern by Aynur Eser

A Story from Nature and Geometry
In a quiet corner of the school garden, students began to see nature differently.
A leaf was no longer just a leaf… it was a piece of color.
A stone was not just a stone… it was a part of a pattern.
Inspired by ancient geometric designs, they started to create.
They gathered what nature offered—leaves, stones, petals—and placed them carefully, one by one.
As shapes repeated, a hidden order appeared.
As colors came together, a silent harmony was born.
In that moment, they discovered something simple yet powerful:
Nature is not random.
It is a perfect design waiting to be seen.

Once upon a time…

there were girls searching for their mandalas 🌿

These girls could see patterns in everything. In the veins of a leaf, on the surface of a stone, in the way the wind moved the grass… But one of them had not yet found her special mandala.

One day, they went out into nature together. They closed their eyes and listened—to the wind, to the birds, to the quiet breath of the trees… Then they opened their eyes.

One of them looked closely and saw it:

thin pine needles spreading out from a tiny center like a star. It was as if nature had drawn its own mandala.

She smiled and said,

“What I was looking for has always been here.”

The others came closer.

Each of them saw something different:

one saw harmony,

one saw patience,

one saw growth…

That day they understood: a mandala is not only something you draw…

it is something you notice, something you feel—sometimes hidden in the heart of a tree.

And from that day on, the girls who were searching for mandalas slowly began to find themselves. 🌱

We went to Gemlik as Bilsem students to study the living conditions in seawater. Our goal was scientific—we conducted measurements in the university’s seaside garden that stretched out toward the gulf. Surrounded by the calm rhythm of the sea, we focused on observing and understanding life beneath the surface.

But something unexpected happened. The natural beauty around us began to capture our attention just as much as our research. The soft sound of the waves, the scattered shells along the shore, and the wildflowers dancing in the breeze created a peaceful atmosphere that we couldn’t ignore.

Inspired by this, we decided to create something together. Since the spiral is my favorite shape, I suggested making a mandala. Everyone quickly agreed, and we divided the tasks among ourselves. Some of us gathered daisies and leaves, others collected stones and seashells from the beach.

Piece by piece, we carefully arranged everything into a spiral mandala. It wasn’t just about creating something beautiful—it was about sharing a moment, working together, and expressing ourselves through nature. By the end, we stood back and admired what we had made. It was more than just a design; it became a memory we all shared, something simple yet meaningful that connected us to each other and to the environment around us.

Once, deep in the heart of the forest, there was a clearing that no one seemed to notice. At the very center of this clearing, a heart made of white flowers quietly beat.

This heart was the memory of nature. Everything began here, and everything ended here.

The pinecones arranged around it were the guardians of the past. Each one held a season, a memory, a loss. They were silent, yet they remembered everything.

The colorful flowers were the feelings of the heart. The reds spoke of passion, the pinks of hope, and the yellows of new beginnings.

One day, a child found this hidden place. When they placed their hand on the white flowers, they felt the heartbeat. In that moment, they understood that nature was not only something that lived, but something that felt.

And from that day on, the mandala was no longer just a shape—it became the heart of nature.

✨ Nature in Our Eyes ✨

In the heart of Zarqa, a hidden forest was honored for its beauty and generosity. From its blessings, students of Zarqa Secondary School created marvelous shapes using flowers, branches, and stones—each design telling a story of harmony between people and nature.

The adventure began when the students stepped into the forest, guided by curiosity and courage. They discovered glowing paths lined with emerald leaves, and every corner revealed treasures waiting to be transformed. With teamwork and imagination, they built arches of roses, spirals of pebbles, and crowns of olive branches.

As the sun set, the forest seemed to whisper its gratitude. The students realized that their creations were not just decorations, but symbols of respect and love for the land. The celebration became a living tale—“Nature in Our Eyes”—where the forest and the youth of Zarqa promised to protect one another.

🌸🌙 Whispers of the Enchanted Forest 🌙🌸

In Zarqa, a forest hidden between the city’s breath and the horizon’s glow was chosen for honor. Its gifts—flowers, branches, and stones—became living sculptures shaped by the hands of Zarqa Secondary School students.

They wandered through emerald paths where every leaf shimmered like a secret, and every stone carried the memory of ancient tales. With imagination as their compass, they built arches of blossoms, mosaics of pebbles, and crowns of olive leaves. Each creation was not only art, but a gentle vow to cherish the land that nurtured them.

The forest answered with whispers in the wind, songs of birds, and the perfume of jasmine. Twilight painted the sky in violet and gold, and the students felt as though the stars themselves had descended to bless their adventure.

Thus, the tale was named “Whispers of the Enchanted Forest”—a story where nature and youth walk hand in hand, carrying beauty in their eyes and dreams in their hearts.

The Secret Mandala of Spring

Long ago, in a hidden meadow at the edge of a magical forest, there lived a young fairy named Lily. Every spring, she was given an important task: to create the Mandala of Harmony, a special circle that helped nature awaken after the long winter.

One sunny morning, Lily gathered bright yellow dandelions, symbols of sunshine, hope, and new beginnings. Then she carefully collected fragrant lilac blossoms, which represented kindness, friendship, and love. Around the flowers, she placed small stones to remind everyone that strength and patience are needed to grow.

In the center of the mandala, Lily arranged beautiful seashells she had found during a journey to the distant sea. The shells carried whispers of dreams and adventures from faraway places.

As the fairy completed the circle, something magical happened. The dandelions glowed like tiny suns, the lilacs filled the air with their sweet perfume, and the seashells began to sparkle. A gentle breeze carried their message across the meadow:

"Nature is strongest when every part works together. The flowers bring beauty, the stones bring strength, and the shells bring dreams."

From that day on, anyone who looked at the Mandala of Harmony felt peaceful, hopeful, and inspired to follow their dreams while staying connected to nature.

And every spring, when dandelions and lilacs bloom together, people say that Lily's magical mandala is still reminding the world that beauty, strength, and dreams belong in every heart.

The End

The Voice of the Heart

In the most secluded corner of the garden, on a lawn where sunbeams danced, this unique mandala came to life. The bright pink flower at its center represented the vitality of life and love. Surrounding the flower, a nest-like woven circle of dry twigs protected it like a safe haven.

The eight green leaves radiating outward symbolized the different directions and facets of life. Some were broad and rounded, while others were long and sleek, yet they all created a perfect, natural balance. Each leaf held a memory, a unique experience, or a whisper of hope. A gentle breeze blowing across the grass softly nudged the petals, reminding everything around of life's fluid nature and constant change.

Other creatures in the garden also joined the story of this natural artwork. Tiny insects paraded across the leaves, playing their part in the endless cycle of nature. Birds celebrated the beauty of the mandala with their morning songs, sharing the pure joy of existence.

Before long, the arrangement in mandala.jpeg became the true heart of the garden. Everyone who passed by this spot paused to remember the delicate beauty of nature and the true value of living in the moment. The mandala stood as the quiet voice of the earth, whispering love, peace, and harmony to all who cared to look.
