Oh, it's just me, myself and I
Solo ride until I die
Cause I got me for life
(Got me for life, yeah)
Oh I don't need a hand to hold
Even when the night is cold
I got that fire in my soul

This song demonstrates the singer's independence and dedication to himself. He further explains that he doesn't need anyone's help in life, and he is completely self reliant. The song employs a sense of parallelism to the text, which says, "Absolve you to yourself, and you shall have the suffrage of the world.." implying that self reliance and dedication leads to achievement and success.

A great historical leader was Martin Luther King Junior. In a time of extreme racism and injustice, King arose from the darkness and shed a light upon others. Many people criticized King because of his words and works, but because of his contributions, African Americans were able to earn their freedom.

In the passage, Emerson mentions how men might not see the outcome of making the right decisions in the beginning. In paragraph three, he says, "Great men have always done so and confided themselves to the genius of their age, betraying their perception that the Eternal was stirring at their heart, working through their hands, predominating in all their being" employing that we must stay optimistic and look towards the light rather than away.

Emerson employs a pathetic appeal when saying, "We but half express ourselves, and are ashamed of that divine idea which each of us represents. It may be safely trusted as proportionate and of good issues, so it be faithfully imparted, but God will not have his work made manifest by cowards," striving to appeal to those who deal with more religious aspects.
