• Easily share messages with your school administrator. Rather than explaining to your principal details about a message a concerned parent left, Google Voice lets you forward the audio message and transcript via e - mail. Nothing is lost in translation. It would be cool if it recorded your voice mails to parents to alleviate the statement, I did not get your call or your message.

I like the text message format (personally) for reminders, updates, etc and think it holds potential for our new age of learners.

Audience Response systems seem like a great way to get all students involved in the discussion. Those who are usually unwilling to participate in a verbal discussion would still be able to have their say.

It would be great to have students receive reminders, but then there is the concern with appropriateness. Between teachers I see this working, but not with Verizon at our school! Also, many teachers don't bring their phones into the building- and for good reason!

Texting is a good means to enhance parents teacher communications. Familiarize with abreviations like LOL, OMG, TTYL, BRB etc..
