The Civil War was fought between the United States of America and the Confederate States of America, a collection of eleven southern states that left the Union in 1860 and 1861 and formed their own country in order to protect the institution of slavery. The picture shows how heated things were and how separated the United States were.

The Industrial Revolution was a period of major industrialization that took place during the late 1700's and early 1800's. This time period saw the mechanization of agriculture and textile manufacturing and a revolution in power, including steam ships and railroads, that effected social, cultural and economic conditions. and sadly this is also when child labor came into play.

Imperialism is a policy of extending your rule over foreign countries, a political orientation that advocates imperial interests, or any instance of aggressive extension of authority. So imperialism and expansion go hand in hand because they're focused on expanded horizons and money. That's why this picture represents American imperialism, and expansion so well because the man (represents America) keeps on getting bigger and bigger.

World War 1 started July 28, 1914 and ended November 11, 1918. World war 1 began after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. During the conflict, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire (the Central Powers) fought against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States (the Allied Powers).he reason why America got into this war was because of the Zimmerman telegram, and unrestricted submarine warfare. I like this picture so much because it shows the trenches, which was a new style of war tactics.

The 1920's were an age of dramatic social and political change. For the first time, more Americans lived in cities than on farms. The nation’s total wealth more than doubled between 1920 and 1929, and this economic growth swept many Americans into an affluent but unfamiliar “consumer society.” It also gave women the right to vote. I chose this picture because it shows a flapper girl. Flapper girls, a young woman with bobbed hair and short skirts who drank, smoked and said what might be termed “unladylike” things, in addition to being more sexually “free” than previous generations. Women wanted too be treated equally.

Roosevelt. The reason for this picture is because of FDR say to Uncle Sam, "Uncle i sure am special," and he is also dressed like a little kid. Also FDR is hanging up stockings like Christmas.
