Stacy Madison and Mark Andrus started a sandwich cart called "Stacy's D'lites" in 1996. Their sandwiches were very successful and they collaborated with a local bakery in order to get the pita bread for their sandwiches. This is an example of capital because they were gaining capital from another business in order to make theirs successful.

1997- The beginning of the chips

In 1997 they began selling pita chips. They used the stale bread to make pita chips. They would cut them up and bake them in the oven, put them in bags and give them out. They started off as a free complimentary gift with the sandwiches. After they gained so much popularity, Stacy and Mark began selling them by themselves. This is an example of entrepreneurship, because she was capitalizing off of her most popular product, and making it available to buy at a higher rate. Soon her sandwich business would thrive from these pita chips, and transition to a chip cart.

2001- expanding the business

There is an increase in demand for Stacy's Pita Chips. It becomes a real brand and she partners with the bakery once again to use their many ovens to produce more chips. She goes into different local grocery stores and asks them to sell her chips. Many agree and more businesses learn about her chips and want them in her stores. She has to produce more chips, hire employees, and get very serious about Stacy's pita chips. This is a great example of land, because she is trying to get as much land as possible in order to get the maximum amount of sales. The different grocery stores and places where she began to sell her chips really helped her to establish her land aspect of her business.

While Stacy's Pita chips are gaining more popularity and being sold in stores, they catch the eye of PepsiCo. The two partner together and PepsiCo helps them become a huge name in the market for snacks. They have higher distribution rates, more flavors, and more attention from consumers. This partnership allowed for a huge increase in sales for Stacy's Pita chips, and was a vital factor to the business becoming a multi million dollar company.

2010- New healthier launches

While Stacy's Pita Chips are doing very well at this point in time, she kept trying to figure out ways to get even more sales, and bring in even more revenue. She came up with having health and wellness focused chips in addition to their already successful chips. They introduced organic and fat reduced chips, that did really well, as expected. This can be an example of labor, as they are using labor to create these new chip lines. They have to get new recipes and get labor workers to produce them, and make sure they are living up to their high standards.
