Auggie is homeschooled till 5th grade because of his condition when his parents decided it would be a good idea to send him into school when everyone else is also new. By this I mean at the beginning of the book Auggie was very opposed to the idea of going to real school and was very unsocial in all areas because he did not have experience getting to know and talking to other kids. Once he accepts the fact that he is going to middle school he becomes the slightest bit more social and starts to talk and get to know the teachers. Towards the middle of the book he starts to talk to more of the kids that are at his school like jack and they become very close. I could put myself in Olivias shoes and relate to the position she was in on this page. I read over this page a few times and every time I did I could picture so well where she was and how she was thinking. Not only this page but multiple others where he wrote very similar to this. This book made me realize never to judge a book by its cover and to always give people a chance no matter what they look like. Wonder also made me realize what what bulling feels like and to never ever do it and to always stand up for people getting bullied if you ever see it happening.
