We stayed in a beach house and had a lot of fun. We got to spend time as a family and it was really nice. I liked hanging out at the beach but I wanted to do something really fun. I decided I wanted to go parasailing so I asked my family if we could all go. They thought it was a great idea so we called and set a time. When we got there I was really excited. I think the best part was the boat ride out into the ocean. When Marjane went to buy tapes she got stopped by the committee. The article was about how the young adults in Iran want the trade laws to end because they like western stuff. This is similar to the chapter because Marjane like stuff from the west just like the people in the article. Also just like how Marjane got stopped for wearing the wrong stuff and breaking the rules the people in the article also got in trouble for breaking rules. I learned that not that much has changed from the 80's to now. This article is about how Americans are spending a boat load of money on Halloween this year. It said people spend the money on things like costumes, decorations and candy. It also said people will be spending money on costumes for their dogs. Children and adults will also be dressing up as stuff like princesses, witches, and super heros. 
An interesting fact I read was that each person plans to spend $86.79 this year. This article interested me because i think statistics about stuff are cool and the article was Halloween stats. A question I have is what does it mean that the high spending is credited to confidence in the economy?I now understand that Halloween is a big holiday at a lot of people celebrate it. 
This article made me curious about how much people spend on other holidays like 4th of July. I liked how the headings were funny and Halloween themed. I am now aware that a lot of people dress up their dogs for Halloween. This article also made me curious about what the most popular costumes have been over the years.
