Students know about 6.000 words in this stage. They can use more complex sentences while speaking and writing. They are able to ask questions when they don't understand something. They should be able to work on grade-level math and science work with some support. The comprehension of reading and social studies is also increasing, but they will still need support. Students writing in this stage will have many spelling and grammatically mistakes as they continue to learn.
