I was born in a small town in Santander, called Barrancabermeja. Even if I was born there, I feel that my roots come from Zapatoca, from where all of my family is from. I was raised by a strict family with strong moral values, which started to shape me into the person I am today. Growing and seeing my family work a hard as they could left a big impression in my young mind.

One of the happiest and most important moments of my life was the birth of my sister. This event made me feel so content, helped me forge part of my identity and clarify my priorities in life, as that moment it was clear I would do anything for her to have a good life.

The opportunity I am most grateful for is the interchange to Canada I did with the school I was studying at. It made me realize the world was way bigger than I ever expected, that maybe speaking other languages was not as pointless as I thought and that maybe I could always meet many more contexts of life.

The downfall <3

These years were the darkest I have had so far. Without realizing everything was going downhill, many of my relatives got seriously ill, my parents lost their jobs, which resulted in many important changes in our way of living, and the turning point was my grandmother's passing. She left a void in our lives and we, out of nowhere, had to learn to live without her.

And then there was light, after many years of anxiety and rush, I started to develop strong and deep emotional connections with the most beautiful beings, I met those who would become my best friends, I met those four little paws that made my life much brighter than ever and I started to see the sun after the storm. Even if it was still a very stressing era, as I had to make many difficult choices, everything was starting to take shape.

Suddenly I had to choose what I wanted to do with my life. Was I going to follow my family's steps? Was I going to follow my dreams? What actually was my dream? Am I really supposed to be doing this?

To this day I do not have the answer, and maybe I never will, but I have faith in myself, that this is the path I am meant to follow, even if that path involves dark alleys or stairways to heaven.

It is hard to define the identity of a person, we have to consider many aspects that are involved in the creation of them. We are composed of those who we meet, even for the briefest of moments, of those who we love, of those who we hate, of those who were before and that will come after us. We encapsule those places that we have see, those who we desire of visiting, those who we once knew but no longer remember. Most importantly though, we are made from those experiences we once had, of those good days or sleepless nights, and how we face our experiences and choices, how we choose to incorporate them in our life.
