European Exploration by Robert Liu Meng

The Social and Economic Effects. God, Gold, and Glory, defied all other reasons of the intentions of European exploration. From it's religious intentions, to growth in wealth, to individual power, without these three clauses, there would be no reason of exploration.

After the conquest of Constantinople, exploration drived the European Powers of Portugal and Spain to fine another route for the Spice Trade instead of making trade flow through Constantinople. In this way they could find more trade routes, fuel their curiosity about the world, and weaken the Ottoman Turks.

Wealth fueled the Church with funds however it didn't exactly do much for missionaries. However if missionaries couldn't pay for their own food and other expenses the Church would cover their cost and since wealth and money fueled the church, colonization may have involuntarily allowed for the Church to grow stronger.
