Water can be used to create unique pieces of art! Some examples are: water color painting, tissue paper/paper painting, and even side walk painting. Water is also great for diluting glue for yarn art, which I have done with my preschoolers many times.

The website lists many different "unusual tools" to try painting with such as toothbrushes, food items (fruit), food utensils, and cars, feathers, and the list goes on! This article also touches on different things to paint on other than paper/canvas. Some ideas were a tree trunk, foil, ice cubes, CDs, and more!

This process art involves layering tissue paper on top of tissue paper using a glue and water mixture to hold everything in place. They note the importance of using "bleeding tissue paper" so that the colors of the paper can run and make a beautiful picture.

In this PBS Kids article, the author Fred Rogers shows us a new way to make Piñatas! The materials needed are tissue paper (and other materials) to decorate however children what, glue, a recycled box, and a piece of string. Children can decorate the box and then have adults assist with cutting a small whole for small prizes to come out! The string is added to the "door" of the whole to open it. Instead of breaking it to get the prizes, children pull the string to let all the prizes fall out. This technique allows for the piñata to be reused many times!

Recycled resources are great for making creative items like a piñata, gift boxes, mystery prize boxes and more! Cardboard is also fun to coloring or paint on. Popsicle sticks are great for making puppets or signs.

This process art project by FunLittles gives us directions on how to create art using just paper and water! Children can tear up all the paper themselves which is working their small hand muscles. Then children spread water onto their blank paper. The next step is to add the colorful paper in a way that they like, creating something such as a flower. Then the children would add more water to the top and let it dry. Then they would peel the paper up, revealing the colors the paper left behind! This project is said to be "open ended" by the authors.

In this article on the Mosswood Connections site, they highlighted this point "kids learn and experience matters more than a specific result." The article then continues on to show us how to create this textured art. They used textured materials (flour), popsicle sticks for mixing, glue, and paint. The children mixed the paint and textured materials along with the glue for stickiness in a cup. Then the children painted with the popsicles sticks using their hands small muscle groups. Then the authors highlighted how the children loved to touch and explore the textured paint, they mention the process was experience enough, they did not need an end product to hang up, it was about the process.
