He could not graduate because he was missing 2 credits. This was especially difficult for him as he had switched schools multiple times due to being placed in unfair programs. One of his highschool programs consisted of working at a grocery store for credits instead of learning. 

Due to being consistently denied quality education, Darryl never had the opportunity to learn necessary skills. He lives a content life now but is regretful that he never got to learn to read properly. This is a challenge that he faces every day. 

During the case, Darryl was in his early 20s. He was never informed that the case was occurring.
