There are 5 units in Physics: Kinematics, Dynamics, Energy and Work, Sound and wave, and electricity. State one topics, and discuss about a real life situation of things that you that you would really want to find more. Be sure to include your name on your post so that I can give you the contribution credit.

For this unit I am interested in indulging in the physics and kinematics behind the function of Radar Guns because we see them in our daily lives. Kinematics is the study of the motion of objects. Radar Guns measure velocity of objects, but not the acceleration of them. People use these objects for sports to determine how fast a ball is moving or how fast a football has been thrown. Police officers also use these radar guns to determine how fast one is going, and if they detect that we are going over the speed limit, they fine us with a hefty fine and a ticket. I am eager to understand how these guns work and how they can compute the velocity of an object and if we can do these calculations ourselves? Could we also do experiments using radar guns throughout this course?
Below I have attached a short video that briefly explains the physics behind radar guns. My understanding of the physics of it is still vague, however, I find radar and laser guns intriguing and I would love to learn more about them.

- Amelia
