This painting definitely does express an emotion on my behalf. Where a quick glance at this painting seems beautiful due to the combination of colors used, the story that it tells is however, not beautiful. The story of this painting shows a group of Sabines who had gotten invited to a festival which included men romans forcing to retain all these young women present as their wives. The roman leader named Romulus, did a gesture in the raising of his orange cloak, which signifiied his men to take control over all the women. As you notice in the image, all men are grabbing onto these women with force, and you can see the fear in these women's eyes. Two children are also shown on the ground without their mother being present. This is a dramatic and unfortunate event that these women had to live through at this very point in time.

2. Why did you choose it among all others? How do you relate with this artwork? 

I chose this piece of artwork amongst all the others because this painting tells an important and dramatic story that I wanted to share and comment on. Just by viewing the painting, you can notice that this was not a  beautiful, nor peaceful day. The fear in the women's eyes tells you that something wrong is happening here. Of course, as you read about the story, you go on to learn about what this message is really saying to their viewers. This was a festival that led to the abduction of the sabine women present. As I do not relate to this artwork, I can, however, imagine the fear these women are feeling.

Similarily to above, this photo and the story it tells is not beautiful. I do not see this image as serving to unify nor connect us, as the story is very degrading. The story this image tells is basically stated in the title itself. There are three men that are surrounding Jesus, making him appear to be very vulnerable and weak. The purpose of this work was to bring back the moment in time when the captors of Jesus had mad fun of the King of Jews. At this moment, he got crowned by thorns while being covered by a robe. This story was a reiteration of that past historical moment.

2.Why did you choose it among all others? How do you relate with this artwork? 

I chose this piece of artwork amongst the others because the title caught my attention. As I am religious, I wanted to read more onto the story of this paining and comment on it. I also do not relate to this artwork as this is another piece of degrading work. Jesus being mocked in general, is nothing to be proud upon.

This painting tells a story about a group of harvesters, working hard on a hot summer day, in the Netherlands. These harvesters included both men and women and you can notice how exhausted these people are. While some are being shown laying on the field, seeming dehydrated, others are being shown having a meal, as the rest are still continuing to work. Notice some of the harvesters within this painting. You can notice one coming out from the field with his shoulders shrugged and he is not walking straight up. The other man to the right is laying down, as if he is experiencing heat exhaustion. There is also a man on the right hand side wearing a red-orange shirt drinking from a huge vase. All these individuals show the emotion of tiredness. The creation of this photo clearly shows the land appearing to be very dry and hot.

2. Why did you choose it among all others? How do you relate with this artwork? 

I chose this artwork piece amongst the others because it shows the emotion of all the harvesters shown in this painting. Whether they appear to be exhausted, hungry, or just wanting to get the job done, this painting signifies that these group of netherlanders are hard workers. Harvesters have a tough job, and indeed does involve them being out in the sun all day.  I relate to this artwork as I am hispanic, and many of my people are out there on the fields themselves working many hours of the days, just to be able to make ends meet. This photo shows the dedication needed to be able to provide for their families back at home.

2.) I chose this artwork instead of the many others, because I felt as though this one showed the best representation of beauty in nature and unity. I thought this one created lots more depth as well, and contained a lovely amount of green mountains. I relate to this artwork in a nature loving sense. My family loves to go camping every year, and this place looks like a dream to camp by.

I have several reasons why I found this artwork beautiful in my eyes. One of the reasons would be the fact that it reminds me of Marie Antoinette, the Queen of France in 1777. The the figure in the artwork, Marie Antoinette had really pale skin and on her hair, she would usually have some sort of accessory added to it. And the dress she would wear would look colorful and expensively beautiful. Based on the artwork, I would assume, the lady was a noble women. Her husband was probably a rich nobleman. Personally for me, I feel like women of this days would connect to the artwork because of its beauty. When you look at the painting, every single line and color on her is beautiful. She does not have a flaw that we can see. In today's generation, women/girls would only post a picture on social media if everything is perfect. That could be their hair in the right position, their stomach tucked in and so on. The painting does tell me a story; The woman in the painting is rich. I can tell base on outfit and neck. She wants people to see her as a loving person. My assumption would be the fact that she is holding a puppies. And I know she doesn't like pets because noble women are too busy looking nice and expensive for other noble women to see. It's like a competition

When I first saw this painting, I was quite confused on what it was trying to represent. The painting had its description but when it comes to art, I like to create my own meaning towards the painting. This artist who painted this painting is quite talented and it's a beautiful painting. But to me, the painting is not beautiful, I do not like the fact that it seems like the black people in the painting are begging. Another assumption I have regarding the painting is the fact that maybe, the lady in all white is some sort of God and the black people are praying to her. Regardless I do not like the emotions I am feeling towards the painting. I feel like it does connect to us but in the past. Black people where slaves and so on. That might be another reason why I dislike the painting.

This painting has me question everything I see.  So I decided to read the description but it did not really explain anything. In my opinion, the painting is beautiful because of the color choice. I love that the artist choose to paint white shirts on the workers. This makes the viewers pay more attention to what the workers are doing. The painting does tell a story, it shows 3 hard working black men trying to earn a living. The reason I choose this painting among the others because the painting is a true story.

Why did you choose it among all others? Because is shows the lobe of a mother for her baby. I love the way the mother is looking at the baby well she is feeding the baby.

(Samuel Morse was an inventor as well as a painter; he helped create a single-wire telegraph system and co-developed Morse code.) In the painting, Susan Morse is holding a pad of paper and a pencil in her lap. However, her eyes are up, and she is looking to the left side of the frame with a contemplating gaze. The portrait is also known as The Muse, for Susan Morse was an artistic inspiration for her father. (This name comes from the nine Greek goddesses, called Muses, who were over the arts and sciences.) This painting caught my eye because of the soft colors that the artist used to give the illusion that Susan Morse was illuminated by light, even while the sky behind her is beginning to be covered by dark clouds. Shadows in the upper right-hand corner of the painting also help to create an impression of artificial light. This, to me, produces a soft and appealing glow. I also appreciated the lifelike textures of the fabrics of Susan Morse’s dress and cushions, even the smooth texture of the paper in her lap. These textures helped enhance the overall allure of the painting. Thus, this painting portrays how an artist can use his materials to create beautiful masterpieces. Ultimately, the amount of attention to detail shown through these features was the reason I chose this work of art to present.

This painting, created by Aaron Douglas (an African American painter), depicts the biblical story of Moses as he frees the Israelites from slavery and leads them out of Egypt. Not only is this story, and therefore this work of art, an expression of religious beliefs, it is also very symbolic of the many atrocious acts that African-Americans were forced to endure, such as slavery, and their struggles for freedom and justice. For example, Moses was a nickname for Harriet Tubman because of the heroic role she played in freeing many slaves through the Underground Railroad. Thus, Moses in this painting can be associated with individuals, like Harriet Tubman, who fight against the social injustice and cruelty that was, and is, shown to the African-American people. Furthermore, because this painting was made in the 20th century (before the Civil Rights Movement) this work of art was speaking out against the evils of segregation. I chose this work of art because of the way it combined two types of expression (religious and social) with an African style of art. Ultimately, this combination enhances the symbolic meaning of the painting and allows the message of freedom from segregation to be communicated with additional force.

I chose this painting because of the way it portrays individuals in a simple setting. The casual positions of the painted laborers as they work allow the viewer to easily relate with these individuals. To me, this painting could be depicting a family as they work together. I most enjoyed the figures of the woman and the little boy in the foreground of the painting. I can see that the woman is giving the boy an affectionate look, and I can imagine that he is her child. Additionally, the man behind her could be her husband, while the older woman could be a grandmother to the child. Thus, for me, this work of art tells a story of a day in the life of a loving and hardworking family.

I relate to this painting because religion has been very important to my family growing up everything was religion based. Religion for my family is having good moral and beliefs in religion.

In my perspective, I find that this artwork is beautiful because I find the painting really realistic since there are so many details implemented in this artwork. Another reason I see this artwork as beautiful is the sun given that it looks very bright like the actual sun we live with right now. Yes, I would like to share my beliefs that the sun in this artwork is that in my eyes the artwork of the sun and our sun looks similar, which is kind of strange since that the sun in the artwork isn’t real, but it actually has the same brightness as our sun. No, this artwork does not tell us a story. This artwork does connect us in a way due to the fact that we casually see the trees, sky, grass, and sun everyday. I chose this artwork amongst the others since it really stands out on how realistic everything in the artwork is and that it uses a variety  and colors. I am able to relate to this artwork because I naturally will see it when I get out of the house.

I have chosen this artwork since it's an artwork where I have never seen some people being in a sad state. I am able to relate this artwork because I have experienced the sorrow of losing someone that is very dear to me.

It does serve or connect us in a way because having parents that raise you well makes you a person that is willing to assist or help people when they are having difficulties with something. No, this artwork does not tell us a story. A reason that I have chosen this artwork amongst all of the others is that this artwork shows I relate to this artwork because I remember when I was child, my parents would usually take a bath with me given that I didn’t know how at the time.

reason why I chose this artwork by Dante Gabriel Rossetti The artwork is called  La Ghirlandata The reason why I chose this is because it caught my attention right away like a straight-up what you see and is perfect like you could see the image really clearly and I also like how it shows Beauty love and it has a lot of stuff in the background that makes it beautiful and that's why it caught my attention it also has colors like green pan Pink .To be honest I do not relate nothing to this artwork and any meaning but I thought it was really like nice artwork and it was beautiful so that's how it's artwork caught my attention

1.  The representation of cultural diversity is what really drew into choosing this artwork. The way that the artist, whoever it may be, was able to use the limited material they had to create something so life like is amazing. Having these ancient statues only gives us a glimpse of what it is that these ancient colonies did in their time.
2. Personally I feel very connected to this figure because I am a person who follows the traditions of my people. Sure it might not be exactly how my ancestors did it but at least I am continuing the legacy that they bestode on me.

 “  Guernica painting was painted by the Cubist painter in . Its title refers to the city of the same name that was bombed by Nazi planes during the Spanish Civil War, an event that destroyed three-quarters of the ancient town, killing and wounding hundreds of civilians in the process.  So basically the meaning for this artwork it was a war between the Nazi and the Spanish Civil War .

I did this artwork called Guernica Made by Pablo Picasso caught my attention is because when I first saw it it showed like a lot of suffering the reason why I say this because there's people there's also animals and they all look like they're suffering and also mean in this caught my attention.I relate to this artwork to be honest I don't relate nothing to his artwork we did learn about this type of Civil War  in history especially the Spanish  Civil War.

The meaning behind the artwork by Jackson Pollock called the she-wolf is a myth or like a legend and he said in his words

So basically the meaning behind this artwork is basically a myth that a wolf is around the streets of basically the city of Rome during the time of history.

 Why did I choose this artist and this artwork out of all the art in the world because I like Jackson Pollock's work and that's my type of like artwork that I like in this artwork is abstract art and his type of abstract art is movement in the reason why I chose The She Wolf Is because it caught my attention because I had an animal in the middle it looks kind of like like a deer.But in reality is a wolf and then we'll also, attention is his artwork during this one because he's knowing like for splashing paint and it's pretty interesting how he combined a image and that progress of splashing the paint that's why I chose this artwork called The She-wolf.

How do I relate to this artwork in reality I do relate to it none in Jackson Pollock is my favorite artist because I like his artwork technique and the meaning of his artwork and that's why I chose him as a art for personal taste.

I relate to this artwork because it was, they way I was raised. My father always taught be to stand up for myself. That I should never back down is the face of fear. 

I choose this painting because I believe it shows what power can do to people. As a father is always your role to protect your children, so seeing this powerful god eating his child is very disturbing. I believe you see this all the time in this day in age. You see large companies put profits over people or the environment. You also see the government willing to sacrifice people in the name of power. I have seen some parents choose themselves over their children for selfish reasons. You can see in Saturn’s eyes that he is losing his humanity to keep his power.  

I relate to it because it’s a sacrifice I know when I joined the army. I still remember my mom crying as I shipped out to boot camp. Much like the woman in the corner. It also shows that war is nothing new and that unfortunately it is not going to go away. We do need young men and woman who are willing to make that sacrifice for the rest of us.

Not too long ago my niece was born which is the main reason I chose this painting to represent beauty. After meeting my niece for the first time everything just fell into place and I was beyond grateful that she is healthy and living a good life. Compared to the other paintings related to birth, I came across the woman in the painting looks the closest to my sisters which is why it spoke to me the most. The artist’s style is also very interesting to me as it is not entirely realistic but neither cartoonish either. I really like how you can see streaks of paint that was used for her hair, her skin, and even the baby’s face. This painting reminds me that birth is an amazing thing, and that family is what keeps us going.

Artist: Heather Olsen - Title: “Getting Ready To Go Into Battle” 2020 - Oil on Canvas, 10w x 11h x 1.7d in. 

Although there have been a lot of artworks that have been made to honor many people in the medical field this specific one caught my attention. By the title, it makes it very clear that nurses, doctors, and everyone in the medical field have a very significant purpose in the world. “Go into battle” is what stuck to me the most, the way they put on they scrubs and extra layering with masks and gloves, it shows the seriousness there needs to be, especially with the pandemic still going on now. Similarly to my first painting I shared, you can see the artist also has a streaky style of painting. There is also a lot of details in this, even though it only shows the doctor and nothing else in the background I think for the artist to paint just the doctor speaks volumes. The presence of the doctor is very significant and can be seen in the painting, as if he was a hero in a movie, but instead is a hero in real life. In a way, this pandemic connects us all together and reminds us that we all have a part in getting the world back to normal.

Although there are many paintings of sunsets and beaches, I think this one was made to simply feel the warmth of the beach. In every sunset there is never just one color, there is always a mesh of different colors that range from bright to dark which make them beautiful. I chose this painting for this category because as I was looking at it my mind was reliving a day I was in San Diego on the beach with my family. It is one of my favorite places to travel to and always enjoy my visits there. This sunset gives me a very good and warm feeling, in a very optimistic way. The use of the colors pink, orange, and blue remind me that there is always good days to come. There is a balance between these colors, almost like how we need to balance our highs and lows in our lives, because when we do we can turn into something amazing like this painting.
