         <title>all systems will be used in the duration of the waterpolo game. The athletes will complete a swim off which requires the athlete to swim their max at the start of the game to gain possession of the ball which will be using the ATP-PC system. The athletes will then complete serval movements and swim for the remainder off the 7 minutes which will require the anaerobic glycolysis system. Once the anaerobic glycolysis system has depleted after a current amount of time the athlete&#39;s intensity will decrease causing them to be unable to maintain a high intensity which they started with. Meaning the athlete will then require the aerobic glycolysis system for the rest of the quarter before gain a little break to restore the ATP system before the start of the next quarter </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>As the player swims off explosively to gain possession, they are using all three energy systems, with the ATP-CP system most relied on due to its ability to provide energy at the fastest rate. After the players complete the swim off and move to a scoring position, the anaerobic glycolysis system will increase its role to maintain the high intensity. This is due to the low yield of the ATP-CP system where CP depletion will be the fatiguing factor. There will be limited opportunity for restoration of this until the quarter breaks. The anaerobic glycolysis systems will also play a key role in the repeat sprint efforts.<br><br></div><div><br>The anaerobic glycolysis system has a finite capacity, and the aerobic system will increase its contribution throughout the quarter and it will be the most relied on system because of the seven-minute duration and its high yield.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>All 3 energy systems will contribute to the resynthesis of ATP during these actions. When completing in the ‘swim off’, this is a race to get the ball for your team, meaning this will mean it is ATP CP dominate especially considering this is the start of the quarter typically when PC stores are fully replenished. Swimming and mowing to a position are likely to be 70% of max heart rate or lower due to the level of intensity required to make this movement therefor will be aerobic glycolysis system dominant. Similar to this, holding position against an opposing player will be 70% of max heart rate or lower making it also aerobic glycolysis system dominant. Catching the ball and propelling out of the water to shoot is meant to be an explosive and powerful movement in order to get as far out of the water and beat the goalkeeper, this making it an ATP CP dominant action. Lastly, repeat several intervals swimming sprints, due to the rate and yield required, this is most likely to be anaerobic system dominate due to pc depletion occurring early in the 25-30 second duration of the repeats. Overall all 3 energy systems are used to contribute to the resynthesis of ATP in the sport of water polo.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

The ATP system would be dominant when the player is completing a “swim off”. This is due to the high intensity. After the 10-12m the athletes PC stores will deplete and the body will fatigue. The athlete won’t get much time to recover after the swim off as the sport is very fast intensity. The anaerobic glycolysis system would be dominant during this time due to the repeated high intensity. The accumulation of H+ will decrease ph levels and the acidize the muscles, this will cause the athlete to fatigue and therefore decrease the intensity of the athlete. The athlete gets 2 minutes of rest in between the quarters, this time will help the athletes glycogen stores recover.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Fuel depletion of <strong>glycogen stores is the most likely cause of fatigue in this ultra-endurance event. </strong><br><br></div><div><br>Because the event lasted approximately eight hours, the energy system contributing most of the ATP required throughout the event would be the aerobic energy system where both carbohydrates and fats would be used to fuel the system. <br><br>Because the duration of the event is long,<strong> fats may become the most relied upon fuel source</strong> (especially if glycogen stores were not replenished). <br><br>Using <strong>fats requires greater oxidation and the rate of ATP production is decreased, </strong>therefore the athlete’s<strong> intensity would drop, causing a decrease in running speed/performance.<br></strong><br></div>]]></description>

Because these are the dominant energy systems in this event, we are likely to see slower speeds as this event is of such high duration. The likely cause of the fatigue in this event will be the depletion of glycogen, as this occurs the anerobic triglyceride system will take dominance after around 4 hours.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

Although the athlete completes 3 different events the athlete will experience fatigue due to the depletion of Glycogen meaning the rate at which the athlete is able to maintain it speed will decrease meaning the athlete will have to rely on fats and CHO for the rest of the event. Fats will become the most dominate fuel source and ultimately the replenish of ATP will be reduced meaning the athlete will not be able to restore PC as quick. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When exercising in high temperatures, the body will undergo thermoregulation to maintain the temperature of the body when exercising. Due to this the athlete will begin to sweat being the response to the heat which causes the body to try and cool down. This means the blood flow will increase and rise to the skin to allow for sweating to occur. However, when this happens the blood pumping to the bodies working muscle will become slow due to the production of blood plasma which thickens and causes the blood flow which contain oxygen for the working muscles to contract to be affect which will result in an a decrease the athletes ability to perform</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When exercising in hot climates, this means the body is working harder to keep the bodies core temperature at the healthy level of 37 degrees. Exceeding this due to hot whether means thermoregulation occurs, thus making us sweat due to the blood being pushed to the skins surface to cool us down. This can also lead to dehydration due to the water and salts that the body is losing, this making thermoregulation to stop due to lack of fluids in the body. Without hydration but excess sweat, there is point in which the body completely shuts down and causes us to feint, this being the end of the triathlon for that athlete. All these fatiguing factors are a result of hot climates when completing in an ultra-endurance event.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A fatiguing factor of the aerobic glycolysis system, which is the dominant energy system for the entirety of the 8-hour ultra-endurance event is glycogen depletion. This occurs after around 90-120 minutes of submaximal exercise of most athletes. In order to replenish glycogen stores which can’t be done internally like the ATP-CP system, we need to consume carbohydrates. High GI is the best type of carbohydrate to have after this event as it can be broken down and used by the body almost instantly, thus helping to replenish glycogen stores.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Consuming carbohydrates after this ultra-endurance events will replenish the glycogen stores which were close to being fully depleted. As this 8-hour events consists of swimming, cycling, and running, our muscles are contracting with some amount of force which done for 8 hours of duration with minimal stops, will cause our muscles to break giving them microscopic tears, and will need to be repaired. This is done by proteins, which is an amino acid which aids in the recovery and growth of our muscles. This is vital after this event to allow our body to fully recover.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;</div><div>All 3 energy systems will contribute to the resynthesis of ATP during these gymnastic actions. Due to the very high intensity of these actions listed as powerful and explosive, we know there will be some sort of ATP-CP domination at the start of the event. This won’t last for long however as the duration of the exercise is 90 seconds with only a few seconds of rest in between actions. This meaning due to the intense repeats that will go for 90 seconds, the anaerobic glycolysis system will hold dominance for majority of this performance. In turn, this gives us the second-best rate of resynthesis and allows us to do this for the whole 90 seconds. The aerobic glycolysis system will not hold dominance for the event, except for thee rests. However, the aerobic glycolysis system will still contribute throughout the 90 seconds just not being the dominant energy system. Overall, all 3 energy systems contribute to the resynthesis of ATP in gymnastic routines.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When the body is trying to cool itself down, blood flow goes towards the skin and away from the working muscles. An increase of sweating is due to thermoregulation, heat is used to evaporate fluid on the surface of the body. This results in a decrease in blood plasma, meaning there would be a decrease in blood flow since the fluids and water is used by the body through sweating. This would then thicken the blood, since blood plasma is made up of mostly water. Resulting in less blood being delivered to working muscles, therefore less oxygen to working muscles. Leading to a decrease in intensity of activity for triathlete and reduced rate of energy production.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>
