         <description><![CDATA[<div>The reform movement against alcohol.&nbsp; The American Temperance Society was founded to end drinking.&nbsp; It gained support from politicians and businessman when it was discovered that less alcohol leads to less crime and higher productivity.  It lead to less people drinking alcohol and Maine outlawing alcohol outright.</div>]]></description>
