At first I was skeptical about the book--the idea that the information about someone's impending death was available seemed too far-fetched. But I kept reading and I found the story to be action-packed and very realistic in other ways, so it drew me in. My first question is--would you want to know if it's your last day and if so, how would you spend it?

I'm not naturally a big fan of stories that involve fairies, but this book drew me in and kept my attention in a way I didn't expect. There is a romance in it, lots of action, and I'd love to hear from all of you on what you think of the story's characters, plot, etc.

Did your parents ever threaten you with the boogeyman if you didn't behave? (Maybe that was just my generation? lol) When Vivian, a teen detective, faces these creatures and tries to expose their existence to the world, she makes some mistakes. Mistakes are something we can all relate to! It can be hard, but often necessary, to own up to them and do what we can to correct them. Let me know your thoughts on the character, the kids in the Pillars, or the plot of the story itself!

Red Rising is a great book. A perfect mixture of Strategy, Love, Betrayal, Fantasy book I have ever read. I recommend this book. Also you can listen to the book because the audio guy is insane. it is about a society thousands of years in the future and they have different colors that gives them status in society. So red is the lowest and their is gray, blue, white, green, obsidian and GOLD is the highest color. The story is about a main character that is a RED the lowest color of human and how he is rising through this messed up society.

I really enjoyed reading Notes on Complexity. I found it really interesting and eye opening as it had me think about stuff that are apparent within our daily lives that we don’t pay much mind to like why things function the way they do. As much as I’d like to yap about it, I’d just sum it up to I think the author nicely puts together biology, physics, and philosophy in order to explain how organisms work together and what consciousness, as the author puts it, the Big C, may be based on theories and even religious concepts rather than it just being a little voice in your head that comes from the brain. Though I admit, many of these topics were advance in comparison to my prior education but the author dumbs it down to the perfect level where it’s not obvious yet it’s noticeable the author ensures audiences of all backgrounds can follow along. In a way, it made me feel involved in a scientific discussion the way I was able create my own questions or form my own opinions on theories which I greatly appreciated.

The book that I decided to read this summer was Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins. I truly enjoyed all of the figurative language that the author used!! It’s very whimsical, and the content of this book, while at times a bit confusing, made me seriously question the laws of universe. Although we are shown a few different perspectives, it is mainly about a man named Alobar, and his quest for immortality. My mom recommended me this book, which used to be hers.
