My name is Samhitha. I was born on December 30, 2008. I am currently on my summer holiday to grade 9. I was born in Hyderabad and lived most of my life there. I moved to Shanghai about 3 years ago when I was in 6 grade. It was tough for me to fit into SCIS as I could not find any friends and was usually closed off to most people. Then the next year I met 2 amazing people in my English class they made me let my guard down and made me feel like I had someone to support me in school. I go to an art workshop every weekend. This month I had to do an art project that relates to animals or nature. I saw this one black panther picture that a wildlife photographer took and I always was drawn to it either drawing it or admiring it. So, when I had to pick my project I picked that picture as it was on my drawing list. The more I progressed into the painting the better it got. At the endpoint, I was wondering if I made it. When I was in the last stages of my painting COVID 19 hit shanghai and everyone had to go to lock down. The sad thing is I had to leave my painting there in the studio. During the 3 months in lockdown, I was dying to finish the painting. On June 6 my mom told me I can go to my art studio. But the next day she comes back and tells me I can't go due to a case in their compound. So after two more weeks of waiting then on June 19, I went to the studio and finished my art piece. When I was about to leave it started raining. But the lucky thing is I used waterproof acrylic paint. So, it was fine walking in the rain with it. After a 5 min walk home I showed it off to my family and hung it right above my bed. I am so happy and proud of this painting about his painting. Four years ago I lived in an apartment on the 5 floors in the Indian flooring system but hear it would 6th floor. It was perfect my room was like a castle, spacious and filled with color, home sweet home. My friend would call it a theatre. Then I shifted here to china my first house was so small an ant would not fit in it. It was a one-roomed house with a kitchen. I had to do all my work in the living room and had to sleep next to my annoying brother. It was like I had no privacy I was in 6th grade and I needed it. So, my mom and father decided we had to move the next year. The next house was quite comfortable but not as perfect as my room in India. The bed was BIG like I could probably Bungi jump on it. Box by box we settled in. A week later we get an angry and unexpected guest. Our neighbor how lives under us. He said we had to stop running around. But the problem was the floor was wood and you could hear a conversation through it. Then my mom shouted at me and my brother because we were running. So, the next year we packed up again and headed to a new house. The house we are staying in it has three bedrooms and the first room was mine. I would say the house is okay not quite home sweet home worthy but it is comfortable and I got a chance to decorate it the way I like. Plus, this is the only house my friends ever saw. I love animals my friends, family, and fun activities. I love animals because of their diverse shapes, and sizes, and they are very well adapted to the area they live in. Animals have curves that difine or camaflage them. They have edges that protect them from other animals. I love their vibrant colors and their dull camouflage. I love their habits either attacking or defending. most of all I love their diversity. they are unique to one specific place like lemurs in Madagascar or found everywhere like bacteria. I love mammals, reptiles, fishes, birds, and insects(except for cockroaches). I love art because it is a form where anyone and everyone without a care in the world can express their emotions and thoughts. I love art because it helps me identify the beauty in the most simple of things like noses. I love art because it defines a person's perspective either on a great topic like feminism or a stupid topic like is the egg first or chicken. I love to craft because it is fun to make. I love crafting because it is a way to customize something. For example earrings, they are simple and complex at the same time but the thing is I will not wear them if they do not reflect me or the clothing I am wearing. So, I customize them using craft. I love earing-making because it helps me express myself without using words. I love photography because I can capture magical moments like a butterfly on a flower or funny memories of me and my friends fooling around. I love photography because it takes me to new heights to observe anything. it also helps me look at old memories and relive that situations. I love my family and friends because they care about me and I care about them. I love them because they support me in most of my decisions. I love them because they always make me feel better when I am upset. I love them because they give me company when I am lonely.
