The statue shows the head of a warrior. The Aztec warriors wore head objects that would depict sacred animals. This would be their traditional war costumes. A hammer like weapon that was used to deliver blows to the head of enemies. This was powerful enough to crush the skull of an enemy at close range. Made from strong wood and sharp volcanic rock, this object would cut through the skull of an enemy delivering a painful kill.

The Spanish also adopted the cotton armor due to their metal armor not being effective in cold weather.  The armor was not standard issue. It was meant for higher ranked warrior and had to be earned. The artifact is a tribute to Aztec warriors. The Jaguar was a symbolism of courage in Aztec Culture. In order to become a Jaguar Warrior Aztecs boys had to prove themselves. They had to capture enemies, and bring them back as human sacrifices.
