         <description><![CDATA[<p>Aquariums try to give visitors an immersive experience in nature.</p><p><br></p><p>Over the years, zoos have developed many ways to display animals. The least desirable is the barren cage. Animals kept in such conditions suffer from inactivity and boredom.</p><p><br></p><p>One freshwater exhibit at the Tennessee Aquarium recreates the variety of habitats found at Nickajack Lake.&nbsp; Flathead catfish perch on rocks. Sunfish hang motionless beneath sunken trees.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Lights on a Christmas tree at the Tennessee Aquarium are powered by the electrical signals that an electric eel gives off in the water.</p><p><br/></p><p>The electric eels caretaker says, “You can see the tree faintly flickering when Miguel’s just checking out his environment.&nbsp; But he gives off really bright flashes when he’s eating, since electric eels use their charge to stun prey.”&nbsp; </p><p><br/></p><p>“Electric eels can produce enough electricity to power 10 lightbulbs,” says C.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Ocean Journey follows the course of the river into the Gulf of Mexico.</p><p><br/></p><p>The largest tank, the Secret Reef, replicates the environment of the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary in the Gulf of Mexico and is home to sand tiger sharks, bonnethead sharks and green sea turtles.</p><p><br/></p><p>At Penguins' Rock, macaroni penguins and gentoo penguins frolic onshore and swim their 16,000-gallon tank.&nbsp;</p><p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://tinyurl.com/3kk63dup">https://tinyurl.com/3kk63dup</a></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
