The story is about a traveling circus, relationships among the workers and caring for the animals. My favorite act was the Liberty Horses. A woman comes out, followed by 12 horses. They perform without restraints or halters. The author's descriptions made it seem like I was there, in the audience, watching the circus! The story is about a plane crash in which there was only one survivor, a 12 -year-old named Edward. The story goes back and forth from the final few hours on the plane before the crash to Edward's life now without his family. The story is sad but it is also heartwarming. I was surprised at how attached I became to the characters right before the plane went down.
