This makes Khalid's death all the more devastating because its clear that he died for no reason other than fear and violence. They went different routes going to different towns but Paul Revere's journey was more beneficial. Everyone was informed and everyone was willing to listen because he was the Paul Revere someone who was respected in his time and he knew the people even if they were from different towns, he was a connector. William's in the other hand wasn't successful many of the towns he had informed weren't ready for the attack because he didn't know the people, they were out of his friend circle. And no one knew him either so he didn't know the right people to inform in order for the news to spread. This shows how a connector is someone who is able to connect with others with ease and is someone who is known through their connections

This anecdote is used to show the reader how much McDonald's has influenced the United States, proven by the fact that they are able to advertise their logo through merchandise and apparel, as well as cater towards young children through the means of toys in their meals. Where Pharaoh had witnessed a murder, and how all of these occurring events with gun violence had made Alex aware that this is a topic that should be spoken about. After realizing how this affected someone close to him and the way they acted. Word choices included "mirror" "reputation" "vulnerable" "atrocity". 

He had said that, "Trauma splinters memory. Soldiers who have fought in war speak of holding on to fragments of remembrance, like a disjointed slide show which periodically gets stuck on a singe moment. This collection of stories, I realize now mirrors." 

I had chosen this quote because he explains one of his observations that was essential to his start of research. As well as his comparison with soldiers and the people affected by un violence and the trauma they endure. Paul was was a connector and William was not. The morning of victory Paul's word was spread like a virus. Which implies that about 80 percent of work gets done by 20 percent of participants. Which I find very important because he really puts into perspective how us humans cause majority of problems. As an example the author says "twenty percent of motorists cause 80 percent of all accidents" or "twenty percent of beer drinkers drink 80 percent of all beer". In other terms this can be applied to other situations like health epidemics or even big breaking news. The author advances his arguments as well as others by using statistics and fact based information. What I also find helpful is that this book is non bias, and is mainly based on pure observations. As the author writes with no use of the phrases "I believe" or "I think" but rather says "As one epidemiologist says"  or "he found that" etc.

He uses short sentences in order to place emphasis on the importance being a connector had on starting one of the most famous word-of-mouth epidemics in all time. Her gaze is fixated on her to instead make sure "...that I don't leave out some stray square inch..." and it was mostly her word choice and selection of details that brought home the point she is trying to make throughout this book: Just how hard it is to make it in America on low wages and how the people on the receiving end of these services often don't realize what has to be sacrificed for it.
