Like any "maker" genre, knitters have a specific vocabulary and discourse they use to communicate with each other. The most common method of communication is the pattern. These documents are full of words such as: knit, purl, seed stitch, garter stitch, casting on, etc. The longer you knit, the larger your vocabulary becomes and the more complex patterns you can knit. 

The knitting community is very open and generally welcomes new people in. You can find knitting circles all over the world, in knitting stores or coffee shops. There are also a large number of knitters who belong to Ravelry--the FaceBook for knitters. Members can post pictures of their projects, compare their finished project for a pattern to others with that same pattern, and comment on others' finished projects. People who are members of the gym usually have set goals to better their lifestyle, overall health, and mental wellbeing. In comparison to other hobbies, gym people have tendencies that set them apart from other discourse communities. For instance, we usually put lots of thought into picking a time to go to the gym when we know it won’t be busy (usually early morning or late night). Additionally, communication in the gym is usually through words such as reps, sets, weight lifting, leg and arm day, pre-workout, or protein. As people go to the gym more and more frequently, it’s easier to learn new things and create new habits just by observing other gym goers. 

At first, the gym community might be intimidating but once you’re able to get into the gym without a care in the world and feel confident, with music blasting in your ears, the feeling is indescribable. You can usually find your local gym on social media and resonate with others who share the same experiences and goals as you. The gym has the ability to improve your lifestyle.

I moved in with a bunch of other freshmen in the fall. More students have moved in during winter quarter and spring quarter but we are all still a bunch of freshmen in the dorms. Even though we're a lot of students on campus, I feel like we all sort of have a connection because we can bond over our experiences living in the dorms, especially during odd times like this with covid 19. This community is somewhat open because you can not get in if you're not a freshman at the college but if you are, you're welcome to join the students living on campus in the dorms. The way we communicate is mainly through in person conversations or interactions via social media. For a long time, I have had a strong interest in business and always wanted to expand my knowledge in this sector. All of the members of the club are like-minded who want to grow in the field of business. EBSA stands for three pillars: Professionalism, Community, and Discovery. This community is open for anyone of all majors to join but once the quarter starts, the community is closed and no new members would be accepted. To stay as a member, you have to fulfill a fundraising, social, and guest speaker credit & participate in the quarterly Case Competition event. Most of our communication between the members is done during the general meeting or through our Facebook group. If any member needs to receive feedback on something, we would normally message one of our captains or board members for advice. A way we can identify another fellow jewelry maker is based on their method, tools and, design pattern. Jewelry  makers most of the times use clamps, clippers, wire cutters and many other tools to create their own unique pieces. Communication for this community is through pattern/design of their jewelry pieces such as, bracelets, rings, earrings, necklaces, clamping, double loop, beading, wire-wrapping, and closing or opening jump rings. Based off their techniques and design that is how we most commonly can identify another fellow jewelry maker.

The jewelry making community is open to anyone even if you are a beginner. It may be difficult sometimes to do certain techniques and design, but with patience and practice you'll be able to create so many different pieces. You can usually do jewelry making on your own, and anywhere you want or there are clubs/groups through out the world and meet up in different places. I learned how to brew coffee and joined the local coffee roasting community. The interesting thing about coffee community is that everybody has different methods of brewing, equipment and coffee beans that they prefer, yet they all seek the same goal: a nice cup of coffee. The coffee community has their own language: roasting point for beans, v60, swirling, grinder, etc. One can learn how to brew coffee from different equipment, which taste profile to look for each coffee beans, how hot should the water be... These are just a tip of an ice cube for coffee brewing and there is so much more science involved.

Coffee community always welcome new people. Coffee roasters/shops are literally located all over the world, and quick googling or social networking can easily lead to couple local coffee roasters around. I have been playing this game for the past 6 years and it is my primary method of de-stressing and relaxing. 
The community is welcoming as the game is free, but the learning curve for beginners can be difficult. Members in a match together can communicate through a chat box or voice chat.  The entire community usually discusses the game through the use of various forums, whether it be the state of the game or LoL's competitive scene.
League of Legends players have their own jargon used to describe numerous terms in the game. There is also a ranking system that indicates a player's skill level and matches them against players of a similar level. This is objectively agreed upon to be proof of somebody's skill.
While the literal shared goal among its players is to win a match, there are different goals with regard to one's overall relationship with the game. I fell in love with running in High School and since then I've added running into my daily routine. Common goals members share are usually setting a timed run, pacing a run, long-distance or short distance to help them become a better runner or person mentally, physically, and emotionally. Members communicate by creating organizations, clubs, or individual goals using exercises such as sprints, jogs, snakes, marathons, or races. Surrounding yourself with people can help increase self-confidence to achieve your running goals.
Overall, the running community is something that might be difficult to start if you have never thought of being part of it but, it surely is something everyone is capable of accomplishing. Running can greatly impact your life for instance: helping you free your mind, stress relief, lose weight, help with sleep, or positively increase serotonin. Once you start and you find the passion to keep increase those goals, you can become interested in being part of an organization where you will share similar expectations and passion for running. You may find yourself somewhere where you will be able to execute your expectations with others and benefit yourself daily in the running discourse community.

From a pleasant, satisfying typing experience to a more exciting one, the hobby offers a large variety of options for hobbyists to choose from. I started by just admiring the visually stunning keyboards but then I found myself in the mechanical keyboard community, learning how to build my own customizable keyboard. Something I like about this community is that even though different members may have different backgrounds, personal preferences, budgets, we all have a common goal to make beautiful keyboards that express our personal creativity. Like any other discourse community, the keyboard community also has its own set of terms that members use to communicate as well, such as: case, plate, PCB, switches, keycaps. 
 
The keyboard community is very friendly towards new members and provides great resources for newcomers to get involved as well. You can find the community on Discord or Reddit, where most people use to post pictures of their own keyboards that they made and give each other feedback or make comments on their keyboard builds. Overall, it's a great place to express your craftsmanship and creativity through pieces of technology.

There is a crystal for everything one needs help with. To join you can simply purchase a crystal and just follow how to use them which can be found anywhere online ro in books. The community is nice to be in because it helps those who are willing to receive the help and guidance they need in order to reach their full potential. The only way to kind of not be accepted into the community is by belittling others inside the community or just not being open minded to the belief of the healing powers crystals have.
I have my medium sized collection of crystal all ranging with different abilities. I use them by just simply cleansing them with incense and believing in their energy. One key feature of this discourse community that we watched in the video was "shared beliefs about reality." Many of us in the community believe the universe was created by God, and we have similar beliefs about who humans are. A common goal that everyone shares in this discourse community is bringing friends/family to church with us, so you could say we love it when new people join the community! To be a member of this community, the only thing required is an interest in learning about Jesus Christ. Ways that we communicate in the community are through social media like Instagram, email, Discord, and meeting as a group on Sundays. 

A good way to recognize people from this community is to look at how they portray themselves to society. Christians will talk and act in a distinct way, obviously in accordance with the Bible. In normal times, I will watch some scientific and educational documentary. What I am most interested in is the animal world of BBC. After I had a deeper understanding of animals, I began to explore this area. During the eight-year documentary watching, I found that almost every documentary mentioned the increasingly serious environmental problems. As an animal lover, it was also the destruction of animal habitats, which made me pay more attention to the environment around me, so I participated in the school activity of composting kitchen waste, which allowed me to protect the environment. After I started to know about composting, I learned that the use of large-scale pokassi kitchen waste compost could not only save the school waste disposal expenses, but also recycle it back to the nature as soil fertilizer to further protect the environment. I started doing pokassi composting at home and came up with a compost checklist that laid the groundwork for aerobic composting at school. At first, my father tried to put me on a snowboard, but my balance and determination wasn't high enough at the time to get into the sport. To combat this, he put me on a pair of skis, and for some reason this clicked with me, and I was off zooming down the slopes. 
Getting into skiing isn't for everyone as it can involve many risks to injury and your life, especially if you are looking for an extreme adrenaline rush. 
This is a very physically demanding sport if you want to get into more dangerous runs, but the community is very open and welcoming. You will find some of the friendliest teachers to give tips on how to save your own life on the slopes and avoid unnecessary risks.

I made a list of place worth to travel in Beijing and the clothes needed in different season.
Some travelers will record their journal by using the doc and they will share it on the group. So next time when you want to travel to the place, you can look it as a reference. Besides of sharing the document, we can also communicate with other through text, voice and face to face video. 
All the people in this community is welcoming and helpful. people can join the share Information group by consulting the group manager. She will let you in if you love traveling and have been to many places. Beginners lack the ability to find the information they want among too much messages. But gradually they will find a pattern and notice the user's location through their avatar.
